An anonymous source tipped us to an Apple Invitation-Only event to be held at 10:00 a.m. October 12 at the California Theater in San Jose. The invitation itself features red curtains in the background with simple white type in the middle stating "One more thing..."
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has often used the phrase "one more thing" at the end of Keynote addresses at large conferences to bring out new products.
Could it be the release of the iTunes Video Store? Video iPods? Intel laptops? Let the speculation begin...
"It's the four pillars of the male heterosexual psyche. We like naked women, stockings, lesbians, and Sean Connery best as James Bond because that is what being a [man] is." -Jack Davenport, Coupling
And the winner is....iTunes 6, new iMacs, new iPods, music videos for $1.99 through iTunes, "gifting," "fun photos" and oh just Click Here (stuffmag.co.uk).
The Apple store's servers are crumbling at the moment, but I managed to get in and download iTunes 6 AND pick up one of the new iPods. Today is a good day. :)

I told myself that if the secret WAS video iPods that I just might pick one up, but I'm having a tough time deciding whether it's worth $300 when I can already watch videos and play MP3s on my Sony PSP as well as play games. The fact that they're selling episodes of ABC shows the day after broadcast for only $2 sure doesn't make it any easier on me. Decisions, decisions!
It's hard to believe that just five weeks ago I was excited about iTunes 5. Now they're releasing the video iPod just one day after I picked up a nano.
The music video selection at launch is ass. NKOTB? Really? I'm willing to give it time. If they start selling exclusive videos and live performances, they'll get my money.
Now, that new iMac...built-in iSight, remote control, 20-inch screen, 2.1GHz, 250gig hdd, and an 8x dual layer DVD burner...all for $1599 (with my educator discount)? Niiiice.
Went to my stepdaughter and son-in-law's this last weekend, and between sightseeing I took a shot at his laptop, which had been barely functioning on the net for quite awhile.
