Well the AL Central race effectively ended and the AL MVP race effectively became completely wide open today when the White Sox announced Carlos Quentin has a fractured wrist and will be out for the season.

I am now going to go drink heavily.

Damaging, but not deadly for the White Sox. The way the Twins looked in Toronto this past week reminded me of the Mariners when the wheels came completely off at the beginning of September last year.

During the Twins 14-game road trip was the best time for the Sox to make distance in the division. Only 1 1/2 games going into today, so the Twins are looking good to retake the Central.

Sucks for the Sox though. Tough, tough loss.

It's not even so much that he got injured that hurts, but it's the fact that he injured himself by being a total bonehead that's more of a killer.

At least Sox GM Ken Williams looks better for making the Griffey deal now, the logjam of 4 players (Swisher, Konerko, Thome, Junior) for 3 spots (CF-1B-DH) is 'solved'.
