OMLL Chicago Lucha Libre, 8/16, Club Coliseo Deportivo, Chicago

Tojo Yamamoto, Jr. vs. Jose Guerrero. Tojo won 1st fall with a German suplex. Jose won second fall with a frog splash. Tojo won the 3rd fall and match using a shot with Jose's flag pole to set up a Yamamotoclasm.

Lancer 2000 y Viento Maya vs El Reo y Time Page. The tecnicos won the first fall when Lancer hit a crossbody and Maya hit a senton to get the double pin. The rudos won the second fall when Time Page hit a moonsault and Reo locked in a Boston Crab. The tecnicos won the 3rd fall and match after Lancer hit a plancha on Reo then reentered the ring to powerbomb and pin Page. Reo was counted out.

Discovery y Mascara de Jade vs. Miss Taylor y Principe Azteca. The tecnicos won the first fall when Discovery pinned Taylor off a top rope splash while MdJ locked in a crucifix submission on Azteca. The second fall ended when both tecnicos were counted out of the ring. The third fall was taken by the rudos as Discovery hit a great Asai moonsault, but was counted out and unable to help his partner when Taylor hit a foule to get the pin on Mascara de Jade.

Fuerza Aerea, Azteca de Oro, and Esqueleton vs. Poder Boriqua, El Infernal, and Maleficio. The rudos took the first fall as Boriqua pinned Oro of a second rope elbow drop and Infernal and Maleficio used a double pendulum cradle to pin Esqueleton. The tecnicos won the second fall as Esqueleton and Oro hooked Maleficio and Infernal in a rowboat while Air Force pinned Boriqua in the middle of the rowboat with a hurricanrana. The final fall was won by the rudos after Poder Boriqua convinced the referee that he had been the victim of a foule, which led to a a disqualification.

Would some kind person help me out? Crips - been watching wrestling nearly 40 years and I have a question about the stuff!

Rudos and tecnicos - those are heels and faces in Lucha, right? In the recap above, do I just need to know who is who, or should I be able to tell?

Hey, one other question, for you Lucha regulars (I catch a bit of it most Saturdays on Galavision). LaParka's still around, right? Is he CMLL or AAA. Or does it matter in Lucha

The La Parka you see in AAA is the former La Parka Jr (no legitimate relation). Antonio Pena owns the gimmick, so he can call this scrawny bugger La Parka. The real one works indies, non-televised house shows, and occasionally Monterrey.

Yes. Rudos = Heels. Tecnicos = Faces. The ring announcers flat out tell you who is the rudo and who is the tecnico. Very few tweeners, although anybody is a tecnico when up against Puerto Ricans. Satanico is another tweener, and his role changes depending on who he or his team is facing.

I put all the tecnicos first at the beginning of each match recap (in other words, I put the tecnicos before the "vs." and the rudos after). But dont by any means assume that that is a standard procedure. I was hoping that when I said something like "The tecnicos won the first fall when Lancer hit a crossbody and Maya hit a senton to get the double pin." that it would be easily deduceable that Lancer and Maya are the tecnicos. And that should say "Boriqua pinned Oro off a second rope elbow drop" Next Saturday, August 23! Apolo Dantes! It will govern. todd

Thanks - that helps, except I can't tell what the ring announcers are saying because I am a stupid uni-lingual american.
