Boy, those Cardinals really hate winning, don't they? Unbelievable.

The always-on-the-ball commentary team failed to mention that maybe if Rackers had made the 52 yarder in the second quarter, they wouldn't have had to feel the pressure in the fourth.

Was this just an off night for Rex or is he always this awful and constantly bailed out by the D and special teams? (That Urlacher guy - he's pretty good)

Thank god all my sharp knives are still packed from my last move.

I'm still waiting for ESPN to replay the opening TD, so someone can note how utterly burned Lance Briggs got on that.

This was an off night for Rex, but he also got exposed quite a bit - when they were down, he only wanted to work the sidelines for deep passes, and the Cardinals were well prepared. He was mindlocked; if Hester hadn't returned it all the way, Bears don't win.

This is back to back missed possible end of game field goals for Rackers, who was perfect regardless of the situation last year; I think that, as much as the titanic upset, was why he freaked after missing the kick. Announcers had too many things to juggle to figure it out.

So, when they putting up the pizza place?

No, he's been pretty good in the Turner offense. Looked like a rookie today.

Rackers picked up the Illini virus....

Barkley totally called it when he soured on the Cards for not 'going for the jugular' at halftime by playing for a field goal. Is Rackers the next Vanderjagt? Dennis Green's conference was... interesting.

Not to mention that the FG try was pushed back by two false starts by the *home* team.

One of the best exchanges of the night, as the Cardinals are literally choking before everyone's eyes in the 4th quarter:

Thiesmann: Boy, this team has REALLY improved under Dennis Green...
Kornheiser: Not if they lose this game.

Well said, TK. Why Thiesmann picked THAT moment to say that baffles me.

I couldn't believe that ending. I was watching the fateful punt return and thinking, "No...even the Cardinals couldn't lose like this." Apparently, no matter how you slice them, they're still the Cardinals.

The upside (if there IS one) is that Leinart looked very solid in leading that final drive. He's gonna be huge.

As long as I've watched football, I guess there are still some things I'll never understand. A top-notch rookie QB, two Pro Bowl wide receivers, and a Pro Bowl running back, yet the Cardinals continue to suck?

They have a couple of name players on defense, but perhaps that's where they need improvement? Anyway, maybe next year will be their year because I can't imagine them bouncing back from their failures of the past two weeks.

Two words: Offensive line. Going into the game, Edge was only averaging three yards a carry.

Edge (and the Cards) would have loved a 3 yard average today.
Or even just a 0 in his fumble column.

Their line. They weren't getting any kind of push against a Bears defense in the 4th quarter that they had a 2-1 time of posession advantage over. By all rights, their running game should not have gotten as stuffed as it was, and it ended up-- along with 3 critical special team gaffes in the 4th quarter (the Arrington PF, Hester's punt return and missed FG) and a case of Team Fubleitis in general-- letting Chicago stay in a game they had no right to be in at all with how badly their offense was performing.

The next time someone says "how can a team that commits 6 turnovers expect to win?", this game can be pointed to, because Arizona just wrote the blueprint.

Wow, Tony K just BURIED the Cards. Not that they don't deserve it, but still.

It's easy to say in hindsight, but since I only started watching the game at the start of the fourth quarter I hadn't seen any Cardinals' punts before the last one. When I saw how far the punter out kicked his coverage and I heard Tirico say Hester was the punt returner I actually said "Uh oh."

Edge's final line: 36 carries, 55 yards. Ouch.

Only one pro bowl receiver this week,Larry Fitzgerald didn't play. Their defense gave up no td's so I think they're allright there. I'd have to agree that their offensive line lost this for them. They didn't open up many holes for James - 1.5 avg yards/carry. And they kind of forgot to block that Urlacher guy in the second half.

It's not assuring that the best guy in the booth last night was the guy that doesn't even work for ESPN, and doesn't have an NFL background. Charles is great...they should have found a way to keep him around all game...especially in the end...has me looking forward to TNT NBA coverage coming soon.

As a Packers, fan, it's somewhat reassuring to know that your running game isn't the worst in the league, and you didn't spend a hefty fortune on it neither. Poor Cards, but at least your stadium looks nice?

It's really hard to watch a Monday night with Kornheiser. The man is simply horrid.

Dennis Green can rant all he wants, but bottom line is he's about as overrated as they come.

Regarding Grossman, he definitely seemed very off tonight. The first 5 games he had been pretty much perfect. Part of the problem is that he hasn't ever really had to try and lead a major comeback, so he still doesn't know how to be patient when behind. That will come with time. The other problem was poor play calling by Ron Turner. It was obvious that the slants were just not working for the Bears, and they needed to do something else. More play-action perhaps. Maybe a few screen passes. And some more running simply to try and rein Grossman in a bit. He'd been spoiled all year by the fact everything he threw deep seemed to work perfectly.

That said, watching the Bears defense in the final 20 minutes of the game simply decide that they were going to win the game, or at least get the Bears in position to try and win it was amazing.

Kudos to Matt Leinart. I thought he would get crushed on national tv, but he stood up and did a hell of a job. He could be pretty good before all is said and done.

I don't think you can blame the poor running game entirely on the line. I mean, Edge played like DOG SHIT. There is no other word to describe it. I'm a Cards fan, so I've seen every game on Sunday Ticket. Every stinking game, he runs STRAIGHT ahead with no juking, no stiff arms, no English, if you will. He just plows ahead like some automaton, as if to say, "Please someone help me suck." I don't know what the hell his problem is, but he really needs to wake up.
Leinert and the passing game were good. Had Edge played worth a damn, it would have been a whole different game.

This isn't new. Edge has done this for a while. Two years ago I remember pantomiming the whole "slowly take handoff then run straight at line for 2 yards and fall over" deal with a guy I was in a Fantasy League.

Tangentially, I hate when people play the "everyone has, to one level or another, driven drunk, so don't be so judgmental." Due a number of events in my family history and/or friends growing up, I haven't done it.
