And the part of "lieutenant" James Gordon goes to....Gary Oldman. Odd choice, but not one I'd quibble with. The man is an acting MACHINE, although his predominantly villainous tendencies would maybe have made him a better Scarecrow.

Still, can this cast get any awesomer?

FUCKING WONDERFUL!
Oldman is my favorite actor and in my opinion, there is no one finer. This movie is going to rule it.

I'd say I have a hard time seeing this right off the bat, but then again, this is GARY F'N OLDMAN we're talking about. So I"m not worried.

But Gary Oldman's one of the biggest heels in Movieland! I don't know who made the decision to cast HIM as do-gooder Gordon, but it's an odd one to say the least. If we're going with a younger James Gordon, I would have gone with someone like Edward Norton, personally.

But Oldman works, too. This cast has to be the best Batman cast I've seen since the original.

Edge: So Triple H wants me to come to Raw and fight him for the big gold belt. I've TOTALLY passed you on the card.
Jericho: Yeah, but while Triple H is burying you, I get to make out with Trish in front of millions. You tell ME who the winner is here, junior!

The other big rumour floating around is that Guy Pearce will pop up in a cameo as a young Harvey Dent, thus foreshadowing his role as Two-Face in a future Batfilm. Sure, they've used Two-Face before, but let's be honest: Tommy Lee Jones' character was portrayed as a second-rate Joker, not as the REAL Dent.

Two-Face and Poison Ivy are the only villains that were really severely mistreated in the first series of films. Joker was perfect, Catwoman was perfect, Penguin was unusual but interesting, Riddler was a bit too over the top (from Jim Carrey? THE HELL YOU SAY) but pretty true to Frank Gorshin's character, and Ah-nuld didn't do so well with Mr. Freeze but I've never been a fan of that character anyway.

The only problem is, if they're going to use up two more villains in this film, Batman will eventually start to run through his top foes. The A list has been exhausted, and the B list contains only a few (Zsasz, Clayface, Harley Quinn, Mad Hatter, Anarky) that I could see carrying a movie. I really don't want to see a future Batman film where he's forced to battle Baby Dahl and Egghead -- played by Edge.

Also, Watanabe as Ra's could put an end to the rumour that he'll play the Mandarin opposite Tom Cruise's Tony Stark in an Iron Man movie.

This movie is going to kick ass....I just hope the script is up to par. I trust everyone involved with the production except for David Goyer due to his craptastic Blade movies.

Wait…if it’s MLK Jr. Day AND Pat Patterson’s Birthday…who gets the token win here?-- Matt "Excalibur05" Hocking on a match between Mark Henry and Rico

MH: What’s a clever way to say that I have a penis?
CJ: Uh…Mark, nobody’s going to buy that shirt.
MH: How about if I say that I’ve got…a…uh…?
CJ: Coming up with T-Shirt ideas is hard Mark, why not leave it to the WWE marketing department.
MH: I know! I’ve got it!
CJ: Got what?
MH: Stank! That’s Mah Stank! I’m gonna make a fortune!!
CJ: “That’s Mah Stank”?
MH: On the front it’ll say “Can You Smell It?” and on the back it’ll say “That’s Mah Stank”. Everybody’ll buy it because they’ll think it’s a Rock shirt.
CJ: You know…you might be on to something there, sad to say.
MH: I can’t wait to show mah stank to Trish.

You know, I have a feeling that Spanky didn’t quit, he was fired. Why? So they could repackage Mark Henry as “Stanky.” Think about THAT!

I don't know, I've always thought Zsasz was a good enough character to form a movie around, not to mention the fact that they've never done Bane properly. And as for Goyer, he did do the Nick Fury tv movie (mit Hasselhof!), which I personally thought was a lot more fun than it had any right to be.

Here's more on Season 3 from zap2it.com: "It's going to be about two, two-and-a-half years later," says executive producer Howard Gordon. "Many things may have changed.
