I've never understood this line of thinking.
People have their panties in a wad about Michaels returning because it keeps other talent from being pushed? Who the hell do you want to see, anyway?
Stasiak?
Hugh Morrus?
Stevie Richards?
Crash?
Justin Credible?
I like seeing these guys wrestle and that's why I watch Heat and Velocity. Otherwise, I don't give a crap about them because they SUCK compared to HBK.

They suck compared to the HBK of today or compared to the HBK in his prime? I think the nWo just gained another talking head, something they didn't really need. We'll have to wait and see, but merely bringing back Shawn Michaels doesn't make better TV. I'm having trouble seeing what direction this could head. I mean, does Goldust vs. Michaels really do much for anybody? Nash vs. Goldust? Nash vs. Booker T? And can Michaels even wrestle anymore? I haven't seen anything to mark out about yet. Maybe it will be better than it sounds.

The reason behind the split was to give wrestlers that did not have the chance to get over the opportunity to do so. All of the Heat and Velocity people may be low to mid carders but there may be a diamond in the rough. HBK is the perfect reason why everyone should have the opportunity to get over. When the Rockers broke up everyone had Jennetty pegged as a future superstar and HBK as a JTTS. How did that turn out? Maybe one of those guys will come up big.

IMO, if they are going to recreate a flock for Raven, then given him guys like Hugh Morris, Stasiak (have him drop his current gimmick), and a devlopmental guy who are not being used. Give me a reason to care about the guys on Heat or Velocity. Give me something more than rehashing 5 year old angles. They can't run a coherent angle on Heat or Velocity but they can run an angle through the PPV's with the Dudley's?

So what does HBK do? Be a mouthpiece for the NWO? So now we have Nash and HBK talking for the NWO. 2 mouthpieces and 3 or 4 wrestlers? Does anyone really think that HBK can or will wrestle like he used to?

So absolutely nobody is upset about Michaels lying to us on Confidential? Something tells me you folks are gonna tear me a new one when my column goes up. (oooooo, foreshadowing!)

Michaels did indeed look terrific. As for what they do with him - your guess is as good (if not better) than mine. :)

I'd just ASSUMED that every word coming out of his mouth on "Confidential" was a lie. And he didn't disappoint me.

The fact that Michaels put on his "sincere" face and yakked about his newfound religion, yet took the opportunity to take another cheap shot at Bret, showed me once again the arrogant, two-faced little shit he is.

But "upset"? Nah ...

Evilwaldo, that is exactly what I'm trying to say about the mid- and low- carders: the WWE has never given me a reason to care about them, and isn't going to give me a reason (despite the split, which was supposed to accomplish this), so rather than see Stasiak vs. Richards every week in hardcore junk matches, I'd rather see Michaels. At least he has charisma, which is something most of the jobbers will never have, unless by fluke (such as Rock finally coming into his own after the "blue chipper" years).

On his wrestling ability: you have to imagine that as good as HBK was in his "prime," even if he is greatly deteriorated, he will still be awesome. Think of Flair and Undertaker - the are definitely not the most in-shape and capable wrestlers on the roster right now because of their age. But like Michaels, they give us historical reasons to care about them, which is something the new talent may never have (it's not our problem: it's the WWE's). I would rather see Flair flop and be slammed off the top rope a million times than to see Stasiak be squashed by Lesnar. At least I can mark out through nostalgia, which doesn't cheapen the moment for me, though it seems to ruin it for some people.

That being said, even is HBK is only a talker, he is a freakin' good talker. As much talking as there is on WWE these days, I would rather have someone who rocks than hear a thousand Jeff/Matt promos.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying HBK is the lesser of two evils, and is the only answer because the fed just sucks. I'm saying I love HBK, and I'm damn glad to see him back. But that's just my opinion. A lot of people are anti-Nash, and I like him too.

Y'know, if Hall was still around, this would be cooler. Add Justin Credible as well, and you'd have a Kliq stable plus Booker. Can't say it was Hall's fault he got fired-- if you were a recovering alcoholic who still got beer poured over him all night, let's see how long you'd last.

Anyway. I can't see how anybody can reasonably expect HBK to wrestle even close to his prime, since his last WWF match was back at WrestleMania XIV, for godsakes. Not to mention the fact that he supposedly can't take a bump or barely even move in the ring anymore.

You know what'd be funny? Somewhere down the line Shawn says, "I returned for the sole purpose of showing up Bret Hart. I mean, I came back from a back injury, I don't see why Bret can't come back from a simple concussion. By the way, Bret Hart sucks. Yeah, that's right Bret, you suck! You know what else? I was in on the screw job, too! And there's nothing you can do about it!!! HA HA HA HA!!!!"
All that's missing is an off-color remark about Owen, Helen, or Bulldog.

Oh, man, that would be SWEET. You'd probably be able to hear Bret howling in rage all the way from Calgary. Personally, I'm all for the Michaels return-it introduces him to a whole new audience, it gives him a chance to end his career the right way, and it makes some use of a guy who otherwise is just sitting at home earning money for nothing.
