You don't find it ironic that you complain about always putting big men over smaller wrestlers and then comment about a blatent counter-example?

I've never heard of a move belonging to a certain nationality before. Ah well, if Stu was watching, Chris must've made him proud.

Hmmmm, my last post isn't here...I'll just edit this one.
I was NOT complaining about big men *always* going over smaller men. I was responding to comments that it would not be realistic for Eddy to defeat the Big Show. So there.

Yeah, it's a damn shame that spunky Stone Cold never lived up to his great potential by, say, becoming a multiple-time World Champion and the biggest thing to hit the business since Hulk Hogan.

I know this is wrestling and reality is somewhat inconvenient to the whole experience, but come on folks.

It's not at all possible that Big Show is holding the belt strictly to transfer it to another face down the road (a freshly-turned John Cena, a returning Edge, an obviously above the CW title Rey Misterio)?

It's not at all possible that Eddie, as over as he's gotten recently, doesn't particularly need the US title to stay that way, or that he's on his way to bigger things?

The WWE doesn't need to bury the guy. You've already done it for them.

I'd like to believe that. But honestly, nothing the WWE has done in a couple years gives me hope that that is the case. Plus, Eddy cheated...and cheated...and cheated...and hit his finisher...and still lost clean.

Things to note at this PPV;

- Rey (and those who he goes to for help....like say, Ultimo Dragon) vs the "Japanesse Mafia" at the Survivor Series? Possible.

- Matt Hardy snapping next Smackdown! because he lost? I think so. The Version 1 stable recruits and goes after Gowen leading to a showdown at Survivor Series? That would be nice.

- Chavo and Eddy vs the Big Show in a prolonged feud? Why not?

- Beniot beats known Vince flunky A-Train with the SHARPSHOOTER. And you know what? There's little doubt in my mind about this;

That was for Stu Hart (RIP). From the WWE? Who knows. But it WAS from Chris Beniot, paying homage to his mentor. Count on it.

He's beat ALL of the Vince flunkys but one. And that's Lesnar. I think he's next.

- Undertaker loses, but goes after Vince. Why not? Should be entertaining.

(side note unrelated to ANY of this, but does anyopen have the lyrics to Eddy and Chavo's new theme music?).

Possible, yes. But would you describe Big Show as "a larger" man. He's not 6 foot 5. He 7 something. He's a freak. Eddy's gone over bigger guys before, but Big Show is the biggest of them all and they HAVE to book him as unique. They can't just lay him down as any old random big guy who can be outworked.

For the record, I kickbox. I've taken down larger opponents myself. I've also gotten my butt beat, by smaller guys and larger guys. I can tell you, though, I'd rather face a guy more skilled than me but smaller and weaker, than a guy more skilled than me but bigger and stronger. I dunno, maybe that's just my animal instincts.

As a traiend fighter myself, I'd rather take on the bigger man, thanks. A man of great skill has few weaknesses, much less than a big man. In a straight out fight, a man whose skill is the same as a man's strength, skill would win. In a real fight, the Big Show would not fair well against men of skill (Beniot, Eddy, ~REGAL, Angle, etc etc).

Other than the fact they are typically slower, I see no obvious weaknesses a large man has that a smaller man wouldn't. I wasn't referring to strength AS a skill, rather, strength in addition to skill.

Now now, we're a peaceful bunch here on the Wienerboard. Everyone join hands and let's have a rousing round of "Kumbaya"...no...okay, never mind

And I wish I could feel that same hopeful feeling. But instead I'm seeing a prolonged Chavo/Eddy feud, while they prep Big Show for his semi-annual run at the World Title.

Octavian was saying that you should have realized that your complaint wasn't valid because you mentioned Jericho going over Goldberg, and he thinks that proves that Vince *will* let smaller guys go over bigger guys.

What he's missing, though, is that Jericho went over Goldberg in a backstage shoot. They never let Jericho go over Goldberg on TV. So it wasn't a counter-example at all.

As for you kicking his ass, I'll tell you what I always tell women about fighting:

If Cena hangs with Angle, but loses in the end (to the ankle lock, the move that made the current champ tap like a lil bitch) then the end result doesn't matter, the perception is that he is a better wrestler than he was before the match, and he actually gains heat.
(edge couldnt best kurt for the longest time iirc, but still his stocks rised)

If Eddie moves on to something else/interesting on Smackdown, then we wont even remember he held the title in a week from now..simply because Latino Heat is SO over right now, the crowd wont care he lost to a huge mofo like the big show..

And while it does seem like the Show's title win is just in time for his yearly 'gimme a title' streak, I am sure that someone will cut him down, and simply because with this guy everything is david vs. goliath it might be cool to see..

Oh, And Benoit has been doing the sharpshooter on several occasions in the last couple of years. It could have been a tribute to Stu, but saying he only used it tonight isn't true. (Hell, he has even done the move at the same time as the Rock, so the person saying "it is available now" is not right..same for Storm i believe)

The PPV in general sounds decent. HOpe to see it soon (tuesday or so).

I heard this already on Live Audio Wrestling last night, so it's not an original thought. But it makes sense:

They could have ended the match during the spot where Cena goes to use the padlock and chain, fakes out the ref and KO's Angle with the medals. Why not end it there? You allow Angle to keep his `spot' and Cena to get a much-needed PPV win after losses to Brock and Taker earlier this year.

Kurt Angle doesn't seem like the type of guy that needs or tries to `protect his spot' in the company. I doubt he would have nixed Cena going over, especially when the company is in such dire need of strong heels. It just doesn't make any sense...

I think Kurt pushed for an Angle/Cena program, so yeah, I doubt he'd have problems jobbing to Cena at some point.

Now I've had many years of martial arts training myself and lots of fights since I live in the projects here in NYC and I look white. Honestly I like fighting bigger guys because when your smaller like me (5'9") and you take down a guy pushing 6'6" people don't mess with you and it really isn't that hard when you put them on the floor and pummel them. One thing that has always been true is when a play by play guy says the smaller man needs to ground the bigger man. You put a big man on the floor and his head can't move and you just put your fists thru his and there is no space for his skull to move other then through the floor you win.

How can you really be knocked out by gold medals anyway??? They don't seem like they have enough weight to them to make any damage other then a mark on your face or maybe a bruise.

A title belt doesn't look like it should hurt either, but it's used as a "deadly" move.

Have you ever been whacked in the face with an 8-12 lb. gold belt by a two-fifty/three hundred pound man? I bet that shit would hurt.

Belt= Blunt object
Medals= Little circles

Cena’s losing to Angle hurts him about as much as Benoit’s Royal Rumble loss did. Who cares if he actually lost? He went toe-to-toe and hung in there with a guy who’s a 4-time WWE champion and looked like he could actually take the win. Kurt made him look like a million bucks, and the feud doesn’t look to be over any time soon.

As for Eddie – yeah, he had to lose. As it was, they established that he was already weakened by the Big Show before the match just three days ago (since they hype Smackdown as if it were live). But if he’s going to be a future main eventer, then he needs to resolve his “midcard business” first. That means dropping the US championship, breaking up with Chavo, and then not looking back. Plus this way they can stop having him taking up almost every segment (which is good for his push, but risks overexposure). From here, they can either keep going after the Big Show, or have a short feud with TWGTT to drop the tag belts and implode the Eddie/Chavo team.

I think Benoit should be the next one to get the shot at Lesnar, assuming he doesn’t get stuck in another time-killer feud with Rhyno. Right now he’s ripe for either a feud with Big Show or Lesnar, but he desperately needs to get into a title picture somewhere.
