This is legitimately shocking. I can't believe that:
1) A 3 time (and defending) series champion needs to scramble for a sponsor in September.
2) That companies like Office Depot, and if you believe the rumors DuPont, no longer see NASCAR as a viable investment.
3) That of the 3 (?) SHR cars that will be on the track in 2013, only Danica Patrick has a full season sponsorship.
On a personal note, NOT looking forward to replacing all the Office Depot #14 stuff I have. I also wonder that had Home Depot known about this before reportedly signing Matt Kenseth that they'd have gone back to Tony where they belong.
Kenseth signing with JGR is a done deal apparently (according to rumours) but whether he's taking over the #20 or a new number should JGR start a new team...that has yet to be seen. Same with Logano possbly signing with Penske.
SHR may want to hold off on Danica joining Sprint Cup for a couple of years, I think.
