After this weekend I'll take my annual week away from the IWC to get myself really ready for Wrestlemania. Before I do, I just have to say that this year's buildup has been great, and like I said in another thread, so much better than last year's in so many ways. For all the flaws that WWE has thrown upon us, times like this are more appreciated. I try not to take things like this for granted, so I'll just give big ups to the WWE folk for going the opposite direction for Wrestlemania this year. I'll do some posting today, but then I'll run off and pop in whatever Wrestlemania tapes I got. Right now, I'll leave you with this from 411wrestling.com. Take the author's lead, and we'll all have a (hopefully) better time come March 31st when we're all wasted out of our minds. Enjoy...
Dear LORD I could not agree with that article any more. For so long I've been extolling the virtues of "just enjoy it", and this article puts it in a more articulate way than I could. WrestleMania is special, and I applaud Ringmistress for leaving the IWC before WrestleMania - it's the exact same thing I was planning. Unfortunately, I'm so bored at work that I often find myself cruising over to the Wienerboard - bah! But just as well, I advise you all to read the article and from one fan to another - please enjoy WrestleMania for what it is. It truly doesn't get any bigger than 9 days from now....
I'm very glad that I am able to enjoy watching wrestling while still talking to people about it. I have to admit, I am confused by the mindset of this sort of "I'm avoiding the IWC up to WM" philosophy. Nothing personal, but to me that's like saying "I love football, so I'm not going to read anything at all about it going into the Super Bowl." If what you need to make WM enjoyable is a lack of other's comments, then I hope you can resist the lure of yummy Wienerville goodness. I personally am looking forward to talking to everybody here as WM approaches however.
Those who fought against this war's coming must now stand and say we stand behind our troops and wish them the safest possible future. May as few people as possible suffer for this effort to come to a conclusion. If war must come, let it come and go swiftly and as bloodlessly as it can.
If you weren't on the Internet, however, come the 30th you'd be asking yourself "I wonder why Angle and Lesner are being so tentative in there?"
Well Mr. Burns had done it. The power plant had won it. With Rogers Clemens clucking all the while. Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile. While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile. We're talkin'... Softball. From Maine to San Diego. Talkin'... Softball. Mattingly and Canseco. Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw. Steve Sax and his run-in with the law. We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.
I'm not worried about that. It's Kurt Angle! I know it helps to be in the know if certain things happen, but this is a time of year I want to be shocked. The only way to do that is to pull away from the highly critical comments. By the way, Redsoxnation, I don't even HAVE Wrestlemania IX, but I DO have 11-18. All I'm saying is that we can be so critical of things sometimes, especially around the big show, we take things for granted or we underestimate them. I'm not doing that this time. I'm not underestimating any of the people involved in the show, not Austin or Rock, not Angle and Lesnar, Not Shawn and Chris, not even Hunter and Booker. This last year in the WWE has been a royal pain in the ass, for obvious reasons. But this PPV (If they truly value their existance) will make it all worthwile. If it doesn't.... Well, that's why I need to go into this. To see just how worthwile they can be. I'm DARING them to impress me, even without aid from the internet. Remeber this is a 20 year fan speaking.
I just hate what the net has become sometimes. I hate how the net takes matches like Hogan/Warrior, Hogan/Andre, and Hogan/Rock, matches that I hold very closely to my heart, and pisses all over them, citing them as trash simply because Andre didn't pull out a Dragon Suplex. Give me a break. If you can't enjoy those three matches for what they are, than you're not a fan. You're a fucking bitter old man.
WE'RE bitter? Anderson sounds like Scott Keith stole his lunch money.
I'd suggest that if he's tired of reading message boards... don't read them. Because the only thing more obnoxious and pathetic than a net geek is someone who's fed up with net geeks. And bitches about it on the net.

Sean's matches are all the same. That kicky thing in the corner, a little bronco-buster (You just know the braniacs in WWE's brain trust are going to have to have him face Rey-Rey for the dueling Bronco-busters) and a few kicks.
