They've been trying to bring him to Phily for a couple of years now and finally pulled it off. And I'll presume this received the AI Blessing before any firing/hiring took place.

I'm really happy with the move. O'Brien was just going to continue to butt heads with every player not named Iverson, and they've wanted Mo for a long long time.

A.I. has stated that he loves Mo Cheeks from when he was an assistant, so I think they'll get along just fine. I hope they can find a good role for Webber, too, because he's not going anywhere.

Considering the coaching carousel in Philly, who does Billy King have pictures of in order to maintain his GM position, and does Ed Wade have copies of those pictures?

Funny thing about this latest Philly coaching casualty; The last few coaches of the 76'ers got fired or quit because of issues with Iverson. OBrien seemed to get along fine with AI, but the rest of the team had issues with Obie.

King just signed a new deal with the franchise and Ed Snyder supposedly is very happy with the job that he has been doing. He really has only had the GM job for 2 seasons because Larry Brown had final say on any moves before that. This was more of getting the guy that they wanted all along and replacing a guy who no one on the team really liked. In the end I don't expect Cheeks to do much better with this team but 3rd seed isn't a huge stretch with the playoff structure. Overall a good move but in the end this team isn't going anywhere.

Well he is a 2, not a point guard, and I guess the theory is 'he can't hurt'. They won, what, 28 games last year? Not a terrible idea, not like they're going anywhere anyways.
