As far as the current crop of radicals, yeah, we're pretty well saturated. But a policy like the one Moe's endorsing is going to give us a whole NEW set of people who hate us: victims of our "beat up someone to show 'em how bad we be" activities.
I'm not worried about fanatics or radicals. They're not exactly going to be swayed one way or the other. I'm worried about the rest of the people, the rational ones who could - with a bit of reaching out - come to some sort of understanding. That kind of thing is NOT going to come as a result of lashing out at random targets in some kind of international pissing contest.

Fine. How long do you want? Give a date and we'll check back then.
One day after we capture Saddam alive.
Or three days after we can prove he's dead.
Because, IMHO, nobody's talking as long as they think there's a chance that he's still alive (timesonline.co.uk)

| #24 Posted on 15.6.03 1928.18 | And so what if we can never prove he's dead? Different day then? What if he's alive but we can never capture him? Different day then? What if people are just going to keep changing the days?
Bush at this point is downplaying the whole issue of WMDs, and the inspectors are being transferred elsewhere. For all Bush's bluster, doesn't seem like he wants anymore egg on his face. | | Pages: Prev 1 2
