I know I've been trying to reconcile the Daniel Bryan losing streak story in every NXT thread, but what you said just struck a chord with me that actually COULD make this a good losing streak story.

After not getting eliminated next week (and maybe actually have some pros praise him in-ring rather than in video packages), Bryan shows more confidence, and starts controling his matches. Now instead of losing clean, Miz starts doing things to cost Bryan the match. One week he "accidentally" distracts the ref, another week he loses his temper and "accidentally" hits Bryan's opponent after getting jumped by another pro, and then finally, he knocks out Bryan mid match while the ref is down. Between all of these, the two should be getting promo time, with Miz spinning everything as "you have to be prepared for this kind of stuff in the big leagues," which is a huge dick move, but actually TRUE at the same time.

At some point, Bryan lets Miz know he would be better off with santino as a mentor and keeps egging Miz on with insults because he knows that Miz's ego is his downfall. Then let him win the US title either as a great Cinderella story, or the revelation that Bryan was just toying with everyone the entire time, and that he thought a guy from the big leagues would have been better prepared.

Or keep jobbing him out as long as you want and then have him randomly win a title and wonder why he is not over. :D

He really isn't. Santino's a charismatic fool who can't wrestle a lick. Bryan's a plucky little bugger with some cool moves who'll give anyone a run for their money before ultimately losing. The only way Santino lasts five minutes with Batista is if there's a whole lot of chase-me-chase-me slapstick shenanigans.

Bryan's a lot closer to Evan Bourne territory than he is Santino in terms of how he's being presented. Except Bryan currently has a 0.00 probability of pulling out a win compared to Bourne's 0.10.

I'm not sure where then heck they're going with this and I'm fairly sure it'll be A Bad Idea, but he's a million miles away from being Santino.

I could see Morrison beating Miz for The US title and then feuding with Dibiase. I think when Miz and Jericho win the tag titles Big Show will end up looking for a partner and it will end up being Bryan.

You know what? This would actually TOTALLY be in the Big Show's "character". If you noticed, he definitely seemed to take on a mentor role with the Miz during their run. I could see Jericho/Miz wining the titles, torturing the Big Show (perhaps costing him the title match>), and after Bryan gets eliminated the Big Show grabs him as his partner.

Speaking of Bryan......I noticed on RAW he does the Regal foot wipe before entering the ring. That's a nice little tribute to on eof his trainers.

Bryan wears maroon gear as a sign of respect to Regal as well. I can't grab the link at the moment, but he told the story in one of his WWE.com blog entries.

Santino won matches left and right when he debuted. As far as the casual viewer knows, Batista has more reason to fear the Cobra.

Jeez Louise, it's no wonder this show got canceled so quickly.

If Bryan's match against Miz at a PPV in the future will be his first win ever, after winning NXT without ever winning one single match, he will be what by then ... 0 and 40? That would be career suicide. It's bad enough as it is right now. He has to win soon. Either the U.S. title or some matches on NXT.

Got to go back and watch the show, so here's some thoughts. Did anyone talk about this in the Raw thread? I'm not a fan of the remixed Alberto Del Rio theme song. Change is scary. Nice to have JBL back, of course! AJ:
