IT'S WRESTLEMANIA WEEKEND....for no one on this show. Maybe, I don't know even.... LEZGO!!
-Emma def. Sasha Banks feat. Charlotte -Brodus Clay def. Xavier Woods -Tyler Breeze def. Yoshi Tatsu -Ascension def. scrubs (not JD and Turk) -Corey Graves def. Sami Zayn
Errr-bodys getting squashed like a sale at Whole Foods in this bitch. With the exception of the opener and the main event of course.
I was so happy completely forgetting Brodus Clay was in the company. The issue of Xavier stealing (I thought he got permission for it) Brodus Clay's theme music is resolved I guess. Match is a pig's dream. Sloppy and slow. Standing powerbomb with a 2nd rope splash to end it. The former Funkasaurus challenges for Neville's NXT title.
Tyler squashes Tatsu (but who hasn't amirite fellas?) while showing a more aggressive side. Breeze's new nickname is Greatest Grappler in the Game but I still want some extra depth for his character outside of the ring.
Challenges for the NXT Women's and NXT Heavyweight Titles are excepted via backstage promos. Paige will face Charlotte but Brodus has to earn his spot sez' Neville.
Corey graves versus Sami Zayn and I can't decide who I like more, so everything is awesome. I don't know if the live crowd got it but the story of this match was "Severe Concussion History". Hey, remember when Triple H had a non-loss loss to Curtis Axel on RAW because Lil' Perfect exploited a concussion Trips had suffered from getting hit in the head by Brock too many times, and it didn't help Axel's credibility at all as a new threat?
Nope I don't remember it either.
This was nothing like that. This match had really interesting storytelling by Zayn as a guy who is too tough for his own good and Graves as being exploitative and posturing cooler than thou. One too many restholds from Graves as it prompted an apropos "We love headlocks!" from the Full Sail Crowd. They are the real Occupy Movement.
After some great selling of a head injury by Sami, he takes a Fight Club punch to the ear and get's put in The Lucky 13 Submission lock. Match ends when the ref sees Zayn passed out and eyes rolling in the back of his head. Regal goes from emphatically worried to screaming for help as the match goes on. His growing level of vocal concern adds realism to the commentary that I've sorely missed since JR retired. Please switch Regal and JBL's worknights please!
Can't wait to see how they end things with these two.
(edited by CruelAngel777 on 3.4.14 2243) I believe in The Shield....
It's Wrestlemania weekend for Emma! (And maybe Woods and Brodus. Are they in the ARMBAR?)
I think that wraps up this cycle of tapings. Looks like they scrapped the Solomon Crowe (Sami Callihan) debut. He did unveil a new look (ponytail instead of crazy hair) at a live event after the match was taped, so I guess that's why.
The divas all seem to have outfits with too many straps. I think they are trying to have a unique look, but when every diva has those extra straps in random places, it just starts to look silly.
The Ascension's new music is just mediocre.
During Paige's backstage exclusive, she said "Well, I always knew I was going to have some kind of competition or some people trying to come in my face because you know what, I'm the champion, it's expected." Now I know why they do these practice interviews.
Apperantly, the firings of Scott Hall and Curt Henning are results of the flight back from the England tour last weekend. According to Hogan, Curt Henning and Brock Lesner got in a fight on the plane while in mid-air.
