Tonight I had the night off from work, so I finally got a chance to sit down and watch TNA. But I kinda wish I DID have to work. Crap, BEGONE from my screen!

The show started off innocently enough with a ringside brawl between Jeff Jarrett and Legend. Last week's constant attacks on Jarrett was just plain overkill, so I just hoped they wouldn't stray down that same path this week. This looked to set up Jarrett/Legend for later in the show.

Then D-Lo Brown took on Sonny Siaki. After being a sure thing to hit the main event, Siaki hasn't been so hot, has he? Short match with heel miscommunication that led to a D-Lo win, making your main event D-Lo and Russo for 5 minutes. Why is Vince Russo in a main event??? OY!

We knew Jerry Lynn and Justin Credible had a good match in them just waiting to come out. Tonight, it came out! The ending soured it big time, but I can't forget some of the big spots, including the TOMBSTONE OFF THE TOP ROPE from Credible! You know, it's kinda funny to me how TNA guys can take these sick bumps and remain in one piece while someone from WWE gets a lovetap and is out for weeks (sometimes MONTHS) at a time. That has to mean something. Exactly what, I can't put my finger on it.

3 Live Crew had a HUGE off-night. DX had their off-nights when they were in their prime, so I won't complain.

Jarrett and Legend brawled for a second time. We're hitting that "overkill" stage.

I was on the edge of my seat for the Sabin/Kazarian title match. THE FUTURES COLLIDE...AGAIN! Not as good as their first bout and the Dusty Finish didn't help at all. Of all the things to lift from WWE, why are they copying the Booker/Christian mess? I'm hoping third time will be the charm and Sabin and Kazarian can blow the roof off the building. These two seem to gel very well together.

New Jack & Shark Boy colliding with the Harrissessesses was about as painful as could be expected. The antics that followed nearly redeemed the whole segment, however. I nearly fell off the couch laughing when Shark Boy cleared the ring with the HULK HANDS~! and then started posing like Hogan. This is like "60's Batman TV series" fun! I haven't been this entertained by an unlikely duo since Head Cheese.

Kid Kash CONTINUES to amaze me with his EVIL DICKISH HEELNESS~! This guy is so freaking awesome! Even without the "woman beater" angle that has since been taken by Test, Kash continues to shine with an uncanny charisma. Abyss continues to get scarier by the week. These men WILL be in the main event sooner than later, I guarantee it!

Elix Skipper/Red disappointed me big time. These two guys are capable of so much better, so I'll attribute it to an off-night on both their parts. It didn't help that they hardly had any time at all. And what's with Skipper reaching for a CHAIR? When does he ever reach for a chair? I hope these guys get a rematch somewhere down the line so they can really show their stuff. Random thought: Does Skipper's scale remind anyone else of Crash's old "superheavyweight" gimmick?

The slow burn for Sting's debut continues.

The crowd was VERY into Norman Smiley. Too bad he jobbed to Edward Chastain. So let's see...uh...Chastain is FAT and...uh...FAT...and...he's FAT! I think we have the second coming of Big Sal.

The insider comments are SO annoying, but I ignored that when I realized that Simon & Swinger are STILL IN TNA! Guess last week's match wasn't a one-time thing and they seem to be AMW's next big feud. Judging by last week's match, that could be loads of fun! As if reading my mind, a rematch between AMW and Simon & Swinger was announced for next week! YES! That's one reason to plunk down $10 right there! RAVEN~! came back, as promised, and held his own, even after Douglas ran in, but The New Church also returned. Somehow, I think Slash and Lee are just a placeholder feud for Raven at the moment. Good money says that CM Punk will soon turn on him and join James Mitchell.

We finally get to the Jarrett/Legend match where Jarrett single-handedly clears the ring of security. Meanwhile, up in Stamford, Triple H is busy taking notes. I can't make a judgment call on Legend yet, but I LOVE that catchphrase! "Heroes come and go, but Legends are forever." T-shirt material, for sure.

I like how they're making D-Lo a plucky underdog and all, but I don't want to see VINCE RUSSO in a main event! I'll plead again, PLEASE keep him on the writing end and let Styles get over on his own!

After the decent showings of the last few weeks, this week crashed and burned. I always try and put on my "positive cap" whenever I sit and watch TNA, but short matches and too many guys having off-nights (Skipper, Red, Siaki, 3 Live Crew) made this week forgettable. But the future remains very bright. Chris Daniels's video package is a great way to show off his tremendous charisma and shows exactly why he'll be a big name in TNA for years to come. Kash and Abyss continue to tear it up. And hopefully, 3 Live Crew will be back to their hilarious ways next week.

Until next time!

Thanks for the recap, I for one appreciate it. There's really been no good recaps of TNA that I've found (Meltzer's are ok sometimes). As someone who happens to not reside in the united states, I would personally love to see someone start recapping TNA word for word, CRZ style. But I don't think anyone in the world has as much free time as Zed used to before he discovered vagina.

Ha, that's kinda funny there. Moving on...

I'd say they're incredibly lucky so far. They don't get the muscle tears, because their roster isn't as bulky. As far as major injuries go I'll stick with luck. Tombstones off second ropes can kill someone if slightly off. There's a lot of high risk manuevers being used and wasted in TNA. If you're going to do highspots to finish, fine, but stuff like Tombstones of the second rope for kickouts or transition moves is more of a waste than anything.

You know, I watched one episode of TNA near the beginning of their run, and I keep hearing how much they've evolved. I'm really hesitant to order another one until they can get their quality consistent.

And thanks for the recap, False...

Not that it's important, but is 3 Live Crew actually what they're calling themselves in TNA, or is it just one of those cute IWC-christened names?

(You're welcome, CRZ)
