Da Meltz has revealed the true perpetrator of the depush of Mattitude.

John Laurinaitis, the former Johnny Ace, has reportedly been working againt the push of Matt Hardy.

Ace apparently feels that Matt is still getting face heat from teenage girls and will never get true heel heat. It was Ace who convinced Vince McMahon to put Albert in Mattís place earlier this year in the failed push against Rey Mysterio.

Paul Heyman continues to support Matt as a heel, and in particular his Mattitude character.

However if Ace gets his way, Matt will turn face again in the near future and cater to the same fanbase he had as part of the Hardy Boyz team.

Thank you, Johnny Ace, for failed Albert push #140,248,491. We really should have figured this out sooner. After all, this is the same guy who pushed Rick Steiner down everyone's throats in WCW's dying days.

Huh...I always kinda thought Johnny Ace was one of the more competent boobs behind the scenes. Maybe he just doesn't like Matt personally, or something like that.

Maybe Matt has something against near falls?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. "Mattitude" is a doof. His gimmick is that he and Shannon (and apparently Nunzio) are the only ones that don't get that. For him to put Rey Misterio out for a few months would be stupid. He's not the type of guy who puts people on the shelf. Not that Albert IS, but Matt definately is NOT.

You LIKE the Mattitude gimmick don't you? Want him to keep it? Quit your gripeing.

That said: If Ace thinks Mattitude will work better as a face, he's out of his mind.

I think the ironic thing is that Mattitude has the potential to out-Rocky Randy Orton. I always figured they'd turn him face soon enough but with the same character.

Excalibur:He plays the same character as Jericho. I see no problem with the cowardly doofy heel putting people on the shelf(as long as it's done in a cowardly manner, of course.)

I guess all that time spent as one of the Dynamic Dudes makes Mr. Ace an expert on teenage girls?

Okay, but I thought it might be obvious that using Matt Hardy to put Rey Mysterio on the shelf would be a PUSH for the character and the gimmick, and since it has potential, that's room for both to grow... development I'd like to see. Instead, we got Albert-Train, who's basic gimmick is "Grrr, me bite you face!" and the heat he garners is limited to "Shave your back!" chants. Matt Hardy absolutely could have been someone who puts someone on the shelf, but we weren't allowed to see that side.

All this info about what Ace thinks....and nothing about Gary. I always thought he was the more competent of the two anyway.

Thatis the funniest thing I've read all week!

Americans are a resolute people who have risen to every test of our time. Adversity has revealed the character of our country, to the world and to ourselves. America is a strong nation, and honorable in the use of our strength. We exercise power without conquest, and we sacrifice for the liberty of strangers. Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it is God's gift to humanity.

I just hope they don't turn Matt face again, at least not yet. It's more effective if they wait longer anyways.

Mattitude is anything the writers decide to make him. Yeah in the beginning Mattitude was a goof but so was Kurt Angle. While Angle still has goofy aspects of his character that is also balanced by some credible heel heat through heelish actions. Yeah, Matt Hardy does get some face reactions but maybe if he did something truly heelish, like bust Rey Mysterio's knee, he probably would get a heel reaction. It would make sense for Matt Hardy to bust Rey's knee so people would take him more seriously. Why turn him face right now before the character hits its stride? Not only would this effect Matt Hardy but also Shannon Moore. They would be better off establishing Matt as a true heel and build storylines around that. They could still do some humorous bits around his character but give the character enough edge for him to be a credible threat to those he feuds with. It really isn't that hard.

If that was literally Albert's gimmick, he'd be far and away my favorite wrestler on the roster.

Much as I like the Mattitude gimmick, I'm with Excalibur on this one.

Since putting out Rey, Albert's been put into matches where he had to be a believable opponent for both Brock and Undertaker.

Given that the first thing Brock did when he came to the WWE a few months ago was destroy Team Xtreme single handed it would suggest more than a little lack of continuity to have him all of a sudden be able to live with Brock one on one. Not that a lack of continuity is something that has stopped various other storylines (eg Big Shows push shortly after jobbing to Jeff) but theres a fair amount of bitching about it on these boards whenever it occurs.

Personally I'm hoping that Matt gets a push further down the line in an angle more suited to his character. He certainaly hasn't been lacking air time lately and if they play out the Shannon Moore story right then it could be to his long term benefit

The IMMEDIATE result of A-Train putting out Rey Mysterio was a resulting (yet short-lived) feud with Edge, who of all people, Matt Hardy can believably hang with. Pushing Hardy up to feud with a returning Undertaker which was the presumed plan for A-Train also wouldn't have been too unbelievable, as we already saw the scary Hardy brother hold his own with the Dead Man.

Undertaker destroyed the Hardys and Lita on more than one occassion. Jeff managed to survive for a while in one match, his gimmick match and that was it. And in any case, if you really want Matt to get a push then you'll want the bookers to keep him the fuck away from Undertaker of all people.

I don't know... Undertaker... Billy Kidman.... Undertaker... Billy Kidman.... one is a legitimate main eventer who can't work anymore and has been accused of playing politics to keep his spot... the other is a perennial cruiserweight jobber with no discernible character in sight, despite having a past that included tremendous workrate....

I have to pick Undertaker in this hypothetical feud, despite the drawbacks.

I just don't understand why A-Train and not Matt? Matt makes the most sense, he is prior history with Edge and he works very well with Edge and Rey. Mattitude is starting to get good heel heat minus those five screaming teenage girls. Matt destroying would be awesome and lead to a number of great matches between Matt/Shannon and Edge/Rey. Shannon and Matt are not going to get over by being destroyed by Brock every other week. They need to find people who will be compatabile in the ring as well as entertain the fans. A-Train is not entertaining, he should have been cut instead of Bull.

I just think there is more behind Johnny Ace's motivations then pushing Albert, because he is big. If that were the case then the Smackdown Six would never see the title instead of consistantly competing for it. As it is, they are making Smackdown the better show and with Rock/Hogan on the way, it should be a good next few weeks. I just think Brock is not the right champion for that brand, he hasn't really impressed me too much of late. His Rumble win was very weak as was his last few PPV matches with Big Show, I just get the sense they feed him Matt, Shannon, Big Show and A-Train, because if he had a long fued with Eddie, Kurt, Benoit or Edge, his weakness would show.

A Fan- Perhaps it could be Matt books better matches than Johnny?
