| #1 Posted on 19.6.03 1759.22 | I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!!
Someone has set up s petition to STOP THE KANE UNMASKING STORYLINE. Read on if you dare....
THE PETITION:
To: Vince McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment WWE Corporation Headquarters 1241 East Main Street Stamford, CT. 06902
Monday, June 16, Kane was given the opportunity to wrestle for the Heavyweight Championship on the next episode of WWE Raw, June 22. The condition being, if he loses he must be unmasked. We, the undersigned, feel that unmasking Kane would be character suicide. We believe that by unmasking him, you will be killing his popularity and his appeal.
In order to show our support and proof of the over whelming demand for keeping Kane under the mask, we have voiced our opinion in this petition.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
Well, Seeing how most of these damn petitions never work, my guess is that this will have an opposite effect of the WWE and Vince McMahon's sick and twisted little mind. So instead of stopping it, it will ENCOURAGE Vince to make it happen. Here's the two case scenarios of what will happen....
A: Have a negative and opposite effect of Vince and the WWE. So Vince does the idea because he thinks of only of a huge ratings boost.
OR
B: It will have NO effect, as it says "Hello to Vince's little friend". Meaning it meets it ulitmate demise in the paper shedder or the bottom of the wastepaper basket.
That's my thoughts, what are yours. And have you signed it already. And if you have.....SHAME ON YOU!!

| #4 Posted on 19.6.03 1820.25 | These people have a lot of time to kill, don't they?
Now I hope they DO unmask Kane, just to show these people that Vince doesn't give a damn about their stupid little petitions (although, they've never gotten the message before).

Yeah it worked, worked so well they put him in Memphis til they got rid of him. I remember shortly after that, they had a "Save Viscera" petition, which killed any creditability a future petition could have.

| #7 Posted on 19.6.03 1905.08 | WWE has to be thrilled about this. Part of the intrigue behind the 'lose the mask' stipulation is that, even if you don't want it to happen, you have a reason to watch. Those that don't want it to happen will watch in hopes of Kane going over.
Of course, you've got to expect the swerve. WWE is 100% incapable of doing anything but a bait and switch. Those who were predicting Kevin Nash under the mask in another thread were right on, I'm sure. It would be typical Vince for Real Diesel to become Fake Kane. | jwrestle

It wasn't a petition. It was an e-mail and phone call campaign.
As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?
