I guess we will be seeing more redneck love this weekend. And hopefully Noble will be screaming "Get up boy!" every 5 seconds to whoever he is fighting. (Any know who his opponent is?)

I'd be shocked if it's not Funaki.

Noble (get the K out!) debuts and Holly vs. Angle, man, this is a nice-looking Velocity.

Yup, it was the last bastion of EVIL himself fighting off the Redneck Messiah on Velocity.

Decent little match. Nothing too fancy, but damn if Knoble doesn't have ENERGY! He was flying around that ring at light speed and showed great intensity. I liked him in WCW and the HWA, and he should be excellent in WWE. I dunno about the "Trailer Hitch" as a name for his finisher, though. Oy...

Nidia actually looked pretty hot, too. The cut-offs are working for her. They seemed to be emphasizing that she's "turned on by violence", so I can see her pinballing from man to man over time as she seeks someone even more bad-ass than her current beau.

Interesting that one redneck leaves and another enters...coincidence or could it be Knoble holding Austin down?! Follow the chain of coincidence:

Knoble was, in WCW, part of the Jung Dragons team as the masked "Jamie-san".

The Jung Dragons worked an angle for a time with Ernest "The Cat" Miller, playing ninjas stalking the three-time world Karate champion.

Miller was good friends with DDP, Nash and Bischoff.

Nash is a member of the Clique and is thus in somewhat directly responsible for every bad angle, misused talent and unhappy worker in the industry.

Within six months of Nash's arrival, Steve Austin is gone and Jamie Knoble comes in to take his spot.

You make the call.
With tongue planted firmly in cheek,

Damn, all I caught was the Angle/Holly match. One question: What was with that pinfall?

I dig the gimmick. I could do without Nidia being a part of it - because as with most women managers she takes some of the attention away from the match. In her case, it's because Knoble has to stop to go get in on during the middle of the match.

If he concentrated on simply beating the tar out of opponents and made it clear his intention was to "give that boy a beatin'" and just simply play a white trash stereotype, I'd be happy. Seems like a winning gimmick if the energy is kept high and cartoonish definitions are kept low.

I thought Noble was great tonight, and can't wait to see him v. Hurricane at KotR.

But I mean, we'd all better eat up Noble's work with a spoon and chocolate sauce while we can... it'll be a few more weeks, then Vince & Co. will even forget they HAVE a Cruiserweight title, and Noble will be jobbing to Mark Henry.

*sigh*

Nah, they won't forget about the title. They'll put it on Noble then have Rey Jr. SQUASH HIM LIKE A BUG in his debut WWE TV match. Rey will continue to hold the belt like Malenko did on his arrival...that is, until we all forget he holds it.

I'm not sure if I should be hopeful or worried...

I was just kindof pissed that they didn't show the Chavo/shannon moore match that i read about. Jamie's ok but he's still no excuse for not having jerry Lynn or Esse Rios on the roster. With ReyJr coming soon, maybe Vince is coming around to realizing that the reason Hometown buffet is so popular with people (not me, i can only eat REAL food) is because of the variety of selection. some people want mashed potatoes and meatloaf (HHH, the Rock) and some of us want chicken and pasta ( CW's and Women like Molly and Trish.)

Potatoes, meatloaf, chicken, pasta... so what does that make Booker T?

Doesn't really matter, I guess... he's a whole pound of food that men love.

...will anyone EVER who talks about Esse Rios like he was a God Of Wrestling sit back and remember what he really was... well, he was RVD, except without the stoner charisma, and I *like* RVD.

Papi was a walking hardon who could do a mean SSP, but he wasn't even the PO'EST man's Juvi.

Back on topic, I kinda liked Noble's squatting irish whips at the beginning of the match, but they got really annoying after a while. I have to say that I wasn't terribly impressed, since it seemed to me like it was basically two cruisers wrestling a heavyweight match. Jamie's finish is cool, though.

Go on... touch it.

I have been thinking the exact same thing. Can you see her a year from now as a huge heel manager that helps the new heels get over?

Oh yeah, she is a hottie.

Without the stoner charisma, and the kicks, the cool tights...

Say, what DID Essa do, aside from the Overflippy Armdrag, the over-the-ringpost Buttplancha and the Super-High Moonsault?

And can someone who actually gets to see Velocity tell me what (K)Noble's finisher is? I hear it's a submission, I hear it's cool, and I am left somehow empty inside.

He almost killed Eddie Guerrero with a botched monkey flip once. Does that count as an accomplishment?

I remember Essa's debut was really fantastic-he brought Lita along with him and she was way cool back then.

I saw Velocity and Noble's finisher is a cool submission hold called...ahem...The Trailer Hitch.
I can't really describe it because I've only seen it once, but it kinda looked like he put Funaki's legs in an STF position, put one of his legs in the center (like a figure four) and freakin' stood on the other leg. It looked like it would break your lower leg off.

NOTE: when I decry the treatment of Esse Rios, I am simply following the Laws of Being an Internet Smark. You have to pick some wrestler who isn't on TV anymore, and constantly praise him, *no matter what he was actually like,* claimed he was always kept down by bigger stars, his return would hail a New Era of Wrestling, etc.

Esse, at first, was cool. He moved like a Hardy in their prime, and I had this dream idea of Esse and K-Kwik teaming up to become the Evil Hardyz. Unfortunately, he (Esse) didn't learn english, and didn't get the push he needed. (K-Kwik, instead, got rowdy.)

Well, see, that's the thing. I remember, at the time, thinking "hey, that guy's pretty good". But then I think about it, and I can't remember anything he did aside from the three moves I mentioned.

Oh, well, he posed on the ramp with Lita in this kind of synchronized thing. And Big Show pinned him once against a wall. But that doesn't really fit. (:

Ah, yes. Where oh where is my personal favorite, Disco Inferno? Love his moveset, his promos and especially his dancing. He and booker could do the spinaroonie and the shake-rattle and roll (I believe I have fallen into a Honkey-tonk man vacuum by mistake) as a finisher...

First the trailer hitch looked pretty painful. Of course Funaki sells like a champ and will put anyone over.
Second I agree about taking a former wrestler and talking about how great they were. Maybe I will try it with a total piece of shit as a person and wrestler. Like Sid or Luger. Oh Sid he was great. Fuck it I can't even lie about likeing that roided out, shit in his pants, trying to kill AA, can't wrestle or give promos cumstain.

K-Kwik didn't just get rowdy, he also got his pink slip, too. Now there was a man I just couldn't stand, it didn't help matters that he teamed up with Road Dogg briefly.
