January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
I wouldn't order it (not that I order PPV's anyway). If it turns out to be good, you can always get it on DVD for a cheaper price.
Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs... Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.
I watch a little bit of RAW. I haven't watched Smackdown! since Stephanie took over as GM out of protest.
I still order the PPVs and am glued to the set in HOPES of some WWE magic.
Every once in awhile they're able to deliver and it's tough to call when this is going to take place. I never thought Benoit vs. Angle last month would have been as special as it turned out to be. Or the Big Show/Brock Lesnar series leaving me with my mouth wide open everytime Lesnar delivered another suplex. I NEARLY skipped SummerSlam because I was still REALLY pissed about the Stephanie thing, but am quite pleased I did not - because it was the best card I've ever seen, top to bottom.
The pay-per-views still come alive for me... So I still order them all without fail.

No offense, man...but you're missing some good stuff if you're seriously not watching SmackDown.
A personal protest because Stephanie is on it, albeit in a limited on-screen role, is one thing, but you're cheating yourself out of some fantastic wrestling. You would have had an idea Benoit/Angle was going to turn into something magical based on the work they've done in the ring on SmackDown these past months.
If you're an angle-driven guy, that's your thing...if Steph doesn't do it for you, fair enough. But if you're a wrestling-driven guy, like myself, then SmackDown is Must See TV on Thursdays.
Matthew Good - Playing Calgary March 24th AND 25th. Be there.
Yeah, Stephanie gets a percentage of the screen time that Eric gets, and the same goes for how much she's involved in the angles. She pretty much just sits in her office and makes the odd match. I don't watch Smackdown religiously, but I can't even remember the last time she was anywhere not "backstage".
It's like what Foley used to do when he was still around, only without the humor. She just gets to the point and gets out of the way.

That would have worked out a lot better if the PPV was actually good last year. Unfortunatley, it sucked.
Wow, look at this year's main event line-up! Rock, Hogan, Austin, Triple H, Steiner! Glad to they're pushing the young guys. They really need to take everyone who has been main-eventing since 1999 or before, and get them out of the main-events.
Oh well. The six-man match will still rock!!!
You thought watching Thunder was bad? Raw is like watching Thunder in re-runs.
I'm on the fence, but I think I'm going to end up skipping No Way Out this year. The six-man and Rock/Hogan II aren't enough to get me to come back and sit through another helping of Triple H vs. Steiner.

hmmm pay for a pay-per-view? hmmmm why do that when i can go to my fanatic uncle's house who worships hogan, this guy even has a red and yellow crucifix.

heh, heh. This is where I can be all smug cos we in Scotland have to do no such thing thanks to the wonder of Sky Sports (can't believe Im actually grateful to Rupert Murdoch for anything but I guess lifes funny like that).
I'll be watching with a bunch of guys that I guess many of you would call 'marks' so I'll be interested to see what their reaction to fights like HHH/Steiner is.
I honestly think I'd pay for it anyway. At the risk of losing all remaining dignity, I'm loving the Rock/Hogan feud. I think Rocky's been comic gold in his heel promos so far, and their match last year was electric. And if the 6 man tag doesnt excite you you might as well give up on the wwe altogether.
I'm absolutely praying to god that Bischoff introduces some stip tonight to even up the Stone cold fight cos the idea of his big return being a 'Kick, Wham, Stunner' laden squash does nothing for me.

For me? Oh, I really don't know. I'm on the fence, because as great as Austin was in the late 90s, the WWF wouldn't have become so big if it wasn't for him, and DX, and Mr. McMahon, and Chyna, and Sable, and Foley, and the Rock. It's always been a belief of mine that one wrestler doesn't make a promotion, it takes one wrestler, and the supporting players (incl. the behind the scenes people). In other words, Austin may be back, but it's whatever the hell they'll do with him that will determine their future. Anyway, still undecided.

My friend and I have had an ongoing debate about whether or not we should get it. The only thing that's keeping me interested if something interesting will happen during Rock/Hogan. And not interesting in the way of actual wrestling, but something cool regardless.
I don't know... the six-man seems like filler and I feel dirty paying for a SECOND HHH/Steiner.

I'm actually hopping on the VIA train, meeting up with Llakor, and headin' down to Montreal for the show. I'm really looking forward to it. While there doesn't seem to be too many matches that scream out "WORKRATE GOLD~!" on the card right now, there certainly will be lots going on - Rock/Hogan II, where it is likely we will see the 'official' start of the Rock heel turn we've wanted for so long, our first taste of an Angle/Lesnar PPV-quality match, and the official return of Steve Austin should make it the most memorable show storyline-wise in quite a while. Who knows, maybe they'll finally be able to pull Goldberg out of their ass, and I'd love to be there when THAT happens. Plus, TEST HAS A PPV MATCH AGAINST CHRIS JERICHO, so that's reason enough for me right there!

It's official - The WWE logo turned upside down becomes the Mattitude symbol.
I think the greatness of the PPV all hinges on the crowd. With very little workrate intensive stuff, the degree to which the crowd responds to Austin and Rock/Hogan will decide if this PPV is a resounding success or a complete failure. I'm pretty sure it will be either one of those, no in-between.

The problem is the sheep will be so jacked for Hogan and Austin that no one else will have heat all night. You watch: during the big six-man from Smackdown, the fans will be chanting "HO-GAN!" or "AWE-STUN!" repeatedly. I don't think I'll get it because the "lesser" PPVs almost always leave me disappointed. Plus, I'm bitter about buying No Way Out last year just to see the return of the nWo...and we all know how that turned out.

I'd watch it just due to being a huge Austin mark. And the 6 man will probably rock the house. Stupid college, not being able to order PPV. Thank God for Kazaa...

Except the faces never get the victory (over Trips). Every champion on Raw is a heel. Every champion on Smackdown is a face. Is that weird to anyone else?
