David Otunga was intentionally counted out against Brodus Clay in the pre show...

Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler with the Brogue Kick in the match of the night, surely Dolph is a lock for Money In the Bank this year?

Christian beat Cody Rhodes in a good match...

"Primetime Players" Darren Young and Titus O' Neill won a Fatal Fourway match for a shot at the Tag Team titles over the Usos, Justin Gabriel/Tyson Kidd and Primo/Epico...

Santino defeated Ricardo in the Tuxedo match...

Layla defeated Beth Phoenix..

Sin Cara defeated Hunico...

Kane knocked AJ off the ring apron and was pinned by CM Punk, Daniel Bryan was nowhere to be seen at the finish... finish felt anticlimatic. Not as good a match as you'd expect.

Ryback defeated two jobbers..

John Cena defeated Big Show... Brodus Clay, Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder and others ran in to prevent Show from leaving the cage, Vince McMahon "fired" Big Johnny after..

A mediocre show. Ziggler/Sheamus is very good indeed.

AW MAN I never want to write results and now I see I wouldn't have had to?

Major power shake-up coming out of the show, as John Laurinaitis is fired, and A.W. has turned on the Colons to join Titus O'Neil and Darren Young. Some good matches but nothing standout. They're putting more and more filler stuff on each month, although in fairness this show did have an Orton vs. Jericho-sized hole.

1. Sheamus beat Ziggler. Good match, but disappointing in that it wasn't any longer or better than their TV matches. No real creative nearfalls either, Sheamus just kind of Brogued up and won.

2. Santino stripped Ricardo. I did not watch this match but Ricardo was wearing Del Rio underwear.

3. Christian beat Cody. Very good match with the missing nearfalls from the first match.

4. Young & O'Neil beat the Colons, Usos, and Kidd & Gabriel when A.W. stopped Epico from breaking up the pin. Lots of hard work and big moves from everyone once they got over the confusion of what they were all doing on a PPV. Kidd is amazing. After the match, the Prime Time Players gave the Usos the Fuji/Powers of Pain treatment.

5. Triple H challenged Brock Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam. Perfunctory. Hope they do a Stephanie/Sable angle.

6. Layla beat Beth.

7. Sin Cara beat Hunico. Crowd chanted for Ryder. Short and tame. Not as good as the TV match they just had.

8. Punk retained the title, pinning Kane with the GTS after Kane bonked AJ off the apron and got distracted. Great action, best match on the show, but again kind of disappointed by the finish coming too soon without any twists and turns. Kane carried AJ off but she secretly smiled at Punk.

9. Ryback yadda

10. Cena beat Show. They saved the match with some creative run-ins. Laurinaitis shoved Vince into the cage door, slamming it on Cena. Show knocked out Cena, but the ref was out. Brodus Clay blocked the door with a chair and dared Show to come out. Santino, A-Ri, and Ryder came out to knock Show off the cage but he punched them out like idiots. Then Kofi climbed to the top of the cage in a couple hops and kicked Show off. Eventually Cena made it over the cage before Show could crawl out. Vince fired Laurinaitis and Cena gave him an FU through a table.

Cena/Show/Johnny match was okay instead of the disaster like last month but the underneath matches weren't as good. Nothing worth seeking out. Bring on MITB and the high standard it's set.

It was great of Abraham Washington to explain to us that title shots expire if they are not used within 30 days. I am glad that someone finally established that, considering how often guys fail to use them.

(And it is certainly reasonable for a wrestler to avoid using his title shot in some cases. If you've got some secret injury issues going on, you might be better off skipping your title shot. Using it when you don't think you can win could get you more seriously injured for no benefit.)

That was actually a great blowoff to the Laurinaitis angle, if they keep it that way. Everyone in the company who felt screwed over by him gave him his comeuppance and now it seems like we get a Show/Funkasaurus feud (which I can tolerate, like a modern day Undertaker/Kamala feud which can go in the middle of the show and keep the more exciting people in the main events).

Firing Cena again would have been a redundant story as we saw that two years ago with Nexus, so they went the right direction here. Hopefully, they take things in a new, exciting direction for the summer tomorrow.

I think Cody's loss tonight sets up a potential MITB win next PPV. He's done all he can with the Intercontinental title, and Dolph doesn't really seem positioned to be World Champion right now, so he'd be my pick.

Are they even doing a SmackDown and RAW MITB match now since the lines are so blurred?

Also, the Powers of Pain never won the WWF Tag Team Titles from Demolition. Mr. Fuji turned on Demolition, who were the reigning champions, and then failed to lead his new team to defeat them.

By the way, was it ever established exactly what Big Johnny is fired from? Is he fired completely, presumably? Or just fired as GM of both RAW and Smackdown? If the latter, is he still Executive Vice President of Talent Relations? Point is, does he have cause to show up tomorrow or is #PeoplePower kaput?

If Big Johnny is truly gone -- and it was a ridiculously long run considering what he was like when this whole thing started at the end of last summer/start of last fall -- will they introduce a new GM right away or have a proxy make the matches, saving the new GM - if there is one - for #RAW1000?

Average PPV. I thought Cena vs. Show was brutal for most of the match. Cena was selling two minutes in like he had already been in there 10 minutes. It was ridiculous how quickly they slowed down the pace to nothing, like, almost as soon as the bell rang to start the thing.

HHH/Lesnar at Summerslam is not an automatic buy for me. I also question why everyone expect CM Punk was out there for the Cena/Show match if anyone had a giant reason, and a better one than Cena, to get rid of the guy, it was Punk. Its like if Austin/Vince ended with Foley or Rock taking out Vince while Austin had a match with Ken Shamrock on the card. It really doesn't sit well with me.

I can't say I am too interested in Raw since the rumor going around is that the board is going to countermand Vince and it will be Big Johnny in Lesnar's corner with Vince in Hunters at SummerSlam. I don't expect Johnny to be gone and I think we are in for another round of Cena/Big Show. I kinda feel bad for Show, because I agreed with this promos this week that Vince's shenanigans and hard on for Cena is why someone like him is never seen as a threat. And now, he is back on the Defeated by Cena Monster Pile next to almost everyone else in the company.

Reminds me of Heyman's involvement in Lesnar/Big Show (Survivor Series 2002) as well.

Yeah, CM Punk really should have been out there. I don't understand WWE's thinking of keeping storylines entirely separate here. I miss the old WWF days when Piper would interfere in a Warrior/Rude match or Undertaker and Jake the Snake would team up on Warrior. Punk can deal with the AJ thing and stick it to Johnny on the way out. It's supposed to be a WWE Universe, after all.

Nah, Show's a company man. He's been in this situation literally dozens of times over the last 15 years, and he's always able to be re-inserted into the main event picture at any time. He'll be fine.

Looking back, the next time a GM wants revenge on Cena, he should send a CM Punk or Daniel Bryan to destroy him.

Cena's never lost the title to a "monster" (unless Sheamus counts as a monster?) rather always to (relatively) smaller guys.

He's angle spackle. Need a placeholder feud until a big PPV? Big Show. Need to put over a new champ (Swagger, Cody)? Big Show. But the guy can talk. I'd be fine with him being a roster GM when he can no longer work in the ring. Let's have a GM who can't be intimidated by the heels. Also Show will work in that spot until a sexier name comes along. Like I said, he's angle spackle.

I just got a text from WWE saying that Laurinitis was gonna deliver his farewell address tonight on RAW.

Maybe that will be CM Punk's chance to see him out.

Show was basically playing the "monster of the month" fed to the top guy, just like in the Hogan days. It just so happens that this monster has been in the company 14 years and has done it before, including to Cena.

I actually loved this, and the interference. It was a bully finally getting what he deserved in a logical and non-awkwardly embarrassing method.

I watched the first half hour or so, realized it was nothing but a clip show, and turned the TV off. I guess if I'm being fair, I'm not any less likely to order WrestleMania than I was before the show, but no, this was not a good final sales pitch.
