Don't all of you people get it? It's not about him being able to formuulate a sentence better than Shannon Sharpe. It's not about ratings. It's about obtaining control by the Republican, conservative-controlled minority. Didn't you people pay attention to the way the FCC released restrictions on media ownership without allowing the voice of the people to be heard? Rush is just another step in the process.

You say he's not so bad? Something good to say? Try this:
As W. Bowman Cutter wrote "'The NAACP,' Limbaugh once said, 'should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.' Then there was comment to the black caller that he should 'Remove the bone from his nose.' Also how about the time he said every composite crime photo looks like Jesse Jackson. ...I grew up in the South. Men who make these statements in public are always far worse in private."

And that's only 1 of many.

That oppressive SOB, and the squatters in the White House, have to go!

If you don't agree with this, I challenge anyone to formulate a cohesive argument that presents RUSH as anything other than an overfed elitist, racist, sexist... take your pick.

If I get 24 hours for this one, I deserve it:

First, this probably should have been placed in the Politics forum. But, since its in Football, I have no problem with taking Rush off of Sunday Countdown. However, I want reciprocal agreements that Peter Jenning can't disrupt Miami/Penn State from October '91 for the Clarence Thomas hearings (yes, I'm still bitter about it, it was a good game and they took away most of the third quarter), or Dan Rather can't make a blithering idiot of himself (I know, him opening his mouth makes him a blithering idiot) during a college basketball Saturday in early February when he has no new news but the same crap he babbled for 5 straight hours, thus pre-empting games, or even worse his so-called March Madness comments pre-empting the NCAA Tournament this past March. And we won't even get into Presidential debates forcing the ALCS off of network television in October 2000.

Time to do a Red Sox pennant chase supply list: Arsenic: check. Cyanide: check. Booze: check. Fully loaded gun for full chamber Russian Roulette: check. Ok, I'm prepared, let the pennant race commence.

Not to mention the OJ and Al in the white Bronco pushing the ROCKETS-knicks Finals' game off the air. For crying out loud, every other station had the 'chase.' Why couldn't they leave the game on one freaking station?

You're right... I'll drop this in Politics as well. But I definitely want to hear from the Football audience. Apparently, it's this demographic that conservative forces have deemed either "receptive" or "blind" to Rush's presence... either way, the move has been made. Can you football fans stand to have ANY political viewpoint rammed into your minds during your moments of leisure?

Leisure, however, isn't an excuse to tune out. All I ask is that you listen close to what you hear and make the effort to question.

And hopefully, we can at the very least keep our 4 quarters + overtime if necessary without pre-emption from ANYONE... because let's face it: their noses are already too big of an obstruction for most people's television sets.
