PWI:

TNA's new Fox Sports Net show, Impact!, will not air in Philadelphia, PA. Fox Sports Net does not air in Philly. Many of FSN's shows are picked up by Comcast Sportsnet in Philly, but Comcast has opted not to air TNA.

Philly is the #6 TV market in the country and is also traditionally a very strong wrestling market.

Here's more:

As a followup to PWInsider.com's story on NWA:TNA's Impact! not being carried in Philadelphia, PA, several readers including our own Marcus Dowling sent word that in the Baltimore/Washington, DC market (which like Philadelphia, does not receive the Fox Sports Network), the series will be carried by the local Comcast Sportsnet afilliate, at 4 AM Saturday morning.

The Friday 3 PM timeslot for that Comcast affiliate in that market has been purchased by WorldLink TV, which broadcasts international news. There is no word as to whether the World Link timeslot will be moved in favor of Impact!

Additionally, the 4 AM timeslot will be preempted at times so Comcast can air replays of the Baltimore Orioles baseball games. Impact! is scheduled to be preempted on 6/11 and 6/25 for Baseball replays.

I've also heard that parts of the Orlando, Florida market, which is where the show will be taped at Universal Studios, does not carry the FOX Sports Network. Households that are covered by Adelphia and Brighthouse cable do carry the station, however. The Sunshine Network, which covers Florida's regional sports programming, does carry NWA:TNA Xplosion so it's possible they will also air the Impact! tapes there.

Sam Kenemy sent word that Fox Sports Net New Mexico, which is mainly FSN Arizona programming along with programs from FSN Rocky Mountain and some local content, will be airing NWA/TNA Impact! at 4PM on Fridays. This will effect the Albuquerque, New Mexico area.

Well I figured this was coming from the start since Comcast tries to distance its self from Fox Sports Net as much as it can and produce its own content. Still the only taste of free TNA we in Philly can get is on at 12 Monday nights and its the almost worthless Xplosion show. I bet the wrestling crazy fans send enough emails and letters to get it on the air eventually but with an interview show "Peco Energy Spotlight" on in that time slot I don't know when it would be on.

eh, I dont really mind not seeing TNA. Although, there is plenty of time to have it own. I mean, its all paid programming on Comcast Sportsnet til 4 PM everyday. You'd think they could show it at 3 PM or at least at midnight or something late. But, whatever. Comcast sucks, but as long as they dont allow Sportsnet to be added to DirecTV, they will always have my subscription.

The only problem is that as much as we don't like viewing paid programming, that's what most local stations depend on for money. There are all kinds of advertising dollars coming in, but I don't see any local station moving those for a wrestling show. They'd get more compensation from the paid programming, unfortunately.

From a Canadian standpoint, the best WrestleMania matches were: -Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart; WrestleMania X -Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle; WrestleMania 2000 -Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin; WrestleMania XIII Benoit/Angle was very good...
