It's not as fun as Advance Wars: Dual Strike, but as vitual pet simulators go it's the best one I've ever seen.
Not too sure if it's reached the level of "addictive fun" for me like it was supposed to, but for what it's worth, I've taken breaks from trying to finish Star Ocean to walk my damn vitual dog, so that's something, I guess.

1) Four people at my job bought DS's and copies of the game after seeing mine.
2) 90 % of our conversations start like "Ohhh, I found a set of deer antlers on my walk with the Corgi yesterday" or "My min pin took 2nd in the agility trial"
3) It keeps getting better and more entertaining the more you play with them. I taught my Corgi Jarvis how to breakdance, which looks awesome with his really cool cowboy hat.
Seriously, this is right up there with Animal Crossing. I can't wait for that in November, but until then, Nintendogs should hold me over.

But he only seems to want to do those...occasionaly, and never in competition.
The dog can catch a mean frisbee though...
