So the lovely g/f got me a DS and Nintendogs for my birthday. Any W's have this? I must say I never thought cleaning up dog crap and training a dog could be so fun.

It's a guilty pleasure.

It's not as fun as Advance Wars: Dual Strike, but as vitual pet simulators go it's the best one I've ever seen.

Not too sure if it's reached the level of "addictive fun" for me like it was supposed to, but for what it's worth, I've taken breaks from trying to finish Star Ocean to walk my damn vitual dog, so that's something, I guess.

Yeah, I picked this up (Lab and Friends). It reminds me of Animal Crossing in that it eats up way too much of my life for what I get out of it, but I can't stop playing it. Not that you really play it. The frisbee competitions are fun.

I saw the demo for this a few weeks ago and the one thing that kept going through my head was that Nintendo was trying to get more girls to buy thier products... well, that and that it was the stupidest damn game I'd ever seen in my entire life, and I used to have PONG.

So after a week with the dogs, the following things have happened:

1) Four people at my job bought DS's and copies of the game after seeing mine.

2) 90 % of our conversations start like "Ohhh, I found a set of deer antlers on my walk with the Corgi yesterday" or "My min pin took 2nd in the agility trial"

3) It keeps getting better and more entertaining the more you play with them. I taught my Corgi Jarvis how to breakdance, which looks awesome with his really cool cowboy hat.

Seriously, this is right up there with Animal Crossing. I can't wait for that in November, but until then, Nintendogs should hold me over.

I am having the hardest time training my dog any commands. He usually just wants to turn and wag his tail at me...

What kind of commands are you using? Be sure to enunciate. Also, "Sit Down" is much harder for your dog to misunderstand than just "Sit". Etc, etc

He can do sit...most of the time. I also taught him "shake" and "lie down."

But he only seems to want to do those...occasionaly, and never in competition.

The dog can catch a mean frisbee though...
