Nintendo now has "My Nintendo", a reboot of their rewards program.
They have split the types of coins that you can earn into two types. Gold points to reward players for buying games digitally from their e-shop. Platinum Points for signing into your Nintendo accounts on a regular basis.
They seem to be offering more Platinum Points for users of their new mobile app, Miitomo, which launched on March 31, 2016. I am not sure if it is worth my time to get this, as I am still not sure what I can do with this app, and how much real life social interaction is required. (I am resentful that I even have to carry a smart phone because it implies that people other than Husband will call and talk to me. I carry it for emergencies. Half the time I forget about it and leave it at home.)
The only reward that I am remotely interested in is the "My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess". It is a whopping 1000 Platinum Points. Even though I have a deadline of 10-1-2016 to scrape that together, I might end up crying on October 2nd instead. (If they wanted Gold digital points, it would take less than a month...LOL.)
DAMN YOU NINTENDO!!! [Shakes fist at sky.]
Unrelated note: I am marathon playing Fire Emblem Fates. I like it very much. I am soooo not a tactician and will publicly admit that I am playing it on Phoenix mode (so super easy you can't lose mode). I am enjoying the story more than the game play at this point, and this game is a good way for people who never played a Fire Emblem game to become interested in the Fire Emblem series. I would buy all of the related Amiibos, but I am not confident I would be able to find them at a reasonable price.
