Looks pretty solid, with new 3D portable version of Mario 64, Mario Kart, Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing, and others. And it's got a new 2D Mario. WI-FI capabilities, and a touch screen.
It absolutely does. I love, LOVE Nintendo for completely rolling out the support for this thing from the get go. Huge franchises just ready for launch, now THIS is how you start a system. I can't imagine this turning out to be like the poor Virtual Boy.
The only thing that worries me is the PSOne generation 3-D graphics with each and every game. 2-D is really the reason that I am just in love with the GBA, and I'm really fearing the complete lack of 2-D with this and the PSP.
Lets face it, this bad boy will certainly replace the GBA soon after launch and that'll leave us with NO more 2-D Castlevanias. Ah... it just kind of makes me a little sad, is all.
Ah well, I certainly applaud them for trying to do something different and looking like they'll stick with it this time. God bless ya Nintendo, ya big lugs.
*jerm wonders if tunes will change in a year when they revamp the design to fix one or two major flaws and announce it a week after the next christmas season.
just a little friendly cynicism to break up the Nintendo love fest!
I love the 16 player wireless capability, and I think they can really do some interesting things with the dual screen. Imagine a wresting game, where you're in the ring, and then the second screen AKA "Titantron" shows your valet being attacked in the back, and you have to decide whether to go back and save her, or win the match. This could really be something special.

Damn, that is a really sweet idea.

It still annoys me that Alien Ant Farm's dreadful version of "Smooth Criminal" is available on Rock Band, and in most Karaoke places, but Michael Jackson's isn't, in either case.
