The only reference they made to his various demons was to call his life "tumultuous". All things considered, they could have been a lot less classy.

Yeah, I thought they handled it very well. I'm not gonna complain about them not doing a ten-bell salute... the only people I can remember getting that treatment were Pillman and Owen, who were both with the fed when they died.

Actually, I remember one other. They did a Ten-bell salute to Andre the Giant when he died. I remember that clearly.

Didn't the Big Show's father get the 10 bell salute?

Funny thing. Anyone remember Wrestle Talk America? It was this 3 hour wrestling radio show that was on for a couple of years hosted by the Devious Doc and the Fatboy, Al Albert. They had a lot of interesting guests, callers, opinions, etc. on the show. They even had Vince on there once. Anyway, once Miss Kitty and Lawler were on the show. A caller called up and told Lawler he was upset about the 10 bell salute being used in an angle like that because it was one of the last true and pure things in professional wrestling. Lawler responded with nothing is true or pure about professional wrestling. I hate Jerry Lawler, but nowadays I can't really disagree with that.

I was very moved by the tribute. Great job done by the production guys as usual. Very classy.

Right, but then again, I only started watching around late 1991. First PPV I have is Royal Rumble 1992, so I was somewhere between WM's 7 and 8. And he was in the fed, as well, when he died, right?

Vile, that would make sense because Show was there, and it was a relative, and, of course, part of Russo's storyline (ahem) "magic".

i think that big shows daddy's funeral (of course just a work as his dad really died 5 years before this) was in november 99 and vinnie russo jumped to dubyaceedubya in october so i don't really know if he can take the *cough* credit *cough* for that one...its the kind of classy thing he'd do though

They've already announced they're waiting until next week's Smackdown in Calgary, when they will honour Davey Boy with a moment of silence.

I think Lesnar/Goldberg became a dead issue the moment Triple H won the title at Armageddon. If I was silly enough to bet money on wrestling, I'd put my money on either Cena or Jericho.
