I'll be going to the NFL experience on the 19th - I picked up a few comp tickets at work for a small donation to one of our charity groups here. I guess that means I can't write them off... but that's not the point.

The point is - last time I went to one of these things was a while ago. Denver was going to lose to Green Bay (oops) and it was pre 9/11 security.

Did anyone here make it to the events at last year's Superbowl? I'm looking forward to it, but I'm trying to figure out how early I should get there to make it through security lines (which are supposed to be gawdawful this year). I know this isn't Superbowl Sunday or anything, but they seem to be spooked here in SD.

Your analogy is similar to:

"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?"
"I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?"
"They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

-- my new favorite quote from Slashdot comments.

Indeed. He's probably feeling a bit pissy about the whole thing, but he ain't retiring. Easterbrook's been banging the drum about the general dangers of concussions in the NFL for a while now, and his column this week (sports.espn.go.com)
