As a giants fan, I have never heard of the guy they drafted, but he looks like a machine on the field from the clips they showed.

How did your favorite team do?

DT Tyson Alualu, biggest reach of the round.

The Jags hit it out of the park with two unknowns last year in Derek Cox and Terrance Knighton, so that tempers my disgust a tad.

From one Giants fan to another, I can assure you it's a good pickup from what everyone tells me. From what I heard, Pierre- Paul has got monster ability to most and it should really beef up our D and maybe motivate Osi Umenyiora from bitching so much and actually play right.

Other thoughts:

-Bleh on the Rams making Bradford the #1. I thought the Lions were the real winners, getting Suh. Bradford will probably be a good QB, but Suh's going to be a gamechanger. I can see him making the Lions into a playoff contender in a couple of years.

- Dez Bryant going to the Cowboys. Jerry Jones choosing yet another controversial WR. Somehow, it just seems appropriate. At least we know who Gooddell is likely to suspend next based on the conduct policy.

- Tebow being picked up by the Broncos was surprising. Clausen not being picked at all was even more surprising, but very delightful. I find him really overrated and a bust-in-waiting. Mel Kiper must be so pissed at gettin it so wrong, what with him choosing Clausen as the #4 pick.

I wonder if the Tebow pick means we'll see Quinn or Orton dealt to one of the teams that misses out on a QB tomorrow.

My Falcons already had a pretty sucky defensive secondary, but after losing both Chris Houston and Tye Hill, we sure could have used a top-flight DB. I'm glad we went with defense with the LB Sean Weatherspoon, but secondary would have been better. And when I heard Mel Kiper (I think) float the idea of us taking Damaryius Thomas instead, I squealed like a little girl. Didn't happen though. D'oh!

Also happy that Clausen didn't get picked. I hated everything about Notre Dame's season this year and was absolutely sick and tired of hearing how great he was for bringing them back from the brink of defeat repeatedly, despite the fact that they were nearly losing to several mediocre teams. I hadn't thought about it before but with this new multi-day format of the draft, it sure does give unexpected sliders like Clausen a long ass time to dwell and ponder on their new found misfortune. Ha!

Brandon Graham.

Eh, I still think the main problem with the Eagles' pass rush is that we don't have a DT who can be relied on to get within shouting distance of the QB more than once or twice a season, but I don't hate the pick.

Hopefully they address the secondary today.

Like someone said on a live chat I was on yesterday, the Packers continued their tradition of taking the whitest player available.

Steelers got the Center or at least the Offensive Lineman they desperately needed. They should have traded to get a CB and Golden Tate if available will be one of their targets. I still think the Teabow move is stupid since Denver could have gotten him in round two. I also think he was blessed with talented receivers and a fairly weak ass schedule. Clausen dropping doesn't totally surprise me since getting him is an instant QB controversy. If he drops to third round then I will be surprised. This draft was all about the line. I also think teams betting on better QBs coming out next year is dicey. I was asking a friend who would be coming out next year and he mentioned the Washington QB and maybe Pryor. Pryor coming out would be a mistake, but then we were stumped after those two.

For the Detroit Lions:

#2 Ndamukong Suh - Awesome! Finally the Lions have what appears to be a serviceable NFL defensive line.

#30 (from MIN) Jahvid Best - Uh, not so much. Is trading up to get one in a bunch of backs that are clearly a step below Spiller worth it? I don't think so.

Maybe not better QB's, but cheaper if the rookie salary cap gets put in place like people are saying. Wouldn't hurt near as much to miss on a first round QB if you didn't have to pay him a ton.

As for others next year, Pryor I would doubt. Kellen Moore is a good possiblity. Case Keenum at Houston will get some attention. Mallet too. Maybe Russell Wilson. And of course I think Ponder will be a good one.

I'd like the thank teams #1-#15 for making the Titans' pick probably one of the easiest in history.

Well we know why Tebow got drafted; McDaniels spent more than 15 minutes in a meeting with him and was forever changed.

Not even just that, but there are the gigantic injury issues (if the wind knocks him over, he may be out for the season if not his career) as well as the fact that trading up was absolutely unnecessary. Best was going to be there for them anyways!

Ugh. Sanity with the Suh pick then back to Lions form with this nonsense.

Actually, I think Best will be good in the pros. Then again, I thought Kevin Jones would be too.

Figures the only pick I missed was Tebow.. I *really* want to hear the instant justification behind that pick and/or the surprise/disgust. Hopefully someone got it on youtube.

The morons on the local ESPN radio show were saying there's a ton of backlash against the Bradford pick, claiming people were mad because the Rams coul
d have taken Suh and picked. Up Clausen or McCoy with the 33rd pick.

Whether he deserves to be or not, a lot of people suspected Tebow going in round one. Not a lot had Alualu in the first round, let alone the top 10.

I'm not surprised the Broncos drafted Tebow. Their best quarterback and receiver were cry babies that wanted to take their ball and go somewhere else. McDaniels would probably love to have some players that aren't whiny little bitches.

I don't like the Bradford pick and I'm glad Clausen wasn't picked. I like almost all the other skill position players (Spiller, Greshem, Best, Byrant, etc) better than the QBs.

Uh...why are they morons for saying that? Cause I agree, Suh was a smarter pick and they still could have had one of two QB's that I have more faith in than Bradford.

Oh I know, but passing on a pro-ready QB in Clausen for a raw one in Tebow is the talk of the draft so far. I guess Clausen is a gigantic asshole or something.
