That was the most beautiful thing I think I have ever seen in my life, or at least since watching the Fridge returning a fumble 60 or so yds back in 85. I am glad as a Bear fan though that they only got the second seed, as I'm hoping to see Philly in the divisional playoff instead of Green Bay. I'll take my chances in the dome against the Rams over the Pack anywhere.
I am not overconfident as far as Bears/Pack goes. I think if they meet, the Pack will bring thier A game, but it is not a gimme, by a long shot. Having Nate Wayne back helps alot, though.
The BucsFan just pointed out why I was actually quite glad to see the Rams win yesterday. The Bears can beat Philly at home I think. And while I can't claim to be enthused at the thought of going to St. Louis for the NFC title game, it beats playing the Pack anywhere in the free world. Of course if the Bucs win that screws us over completely, since we then would likely have to beat Green Bay and St. Louis in succession.
If the Bucs get past the Eagles, I am confident they will beat the Rams in the divisional round. Then, in the NFC title game, out of the three possibilities (Green Bay,San Francisco, Chicago), I would most like to go to Green Bay and play the Pack. My next choice would be the 49ers at Candlestick. The Bears swept Tampa this year, and their offense really only seems to open up against the Bucs. I don't want to play them with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

I would be positively giddy if somehow we got to play the Bucs for a chance to go to New Orleans. However, since that would likely entail having to beat Green Bay, I don't see that happening for us. I'm really hoping for Philly to win, since I think the Bears can get to McNabb. I might be crazy, but I could see the Bears beating St. Louis in the dome, but I have way too much trouble seeing us somehow beating Green Bay. I know the Rams are a better team, but I think the Tampa model of how to beat them could be pulled off by the Bears, while the Packers just seem to be able to counter everything we do.
Unfortunately, I think the Bucs SHOULD beat Philly, no problem. The only thing I can see stopping the Bucs is the "cold weather" thing, which I think has become a mental block for them. If they don't psych themselves out with that, and just play football, they should beat the Eagles easily.
I'm like you, I would rather play the Eagles and take our chances with St. Louis in the dome than play Green Bay anywhere at anytime, but somehow I think it may be destiny that there will be a rematch.
Traylor running post-interception was one of the most amusing things I've seen on a football field in a long time.
If the Bucs can win in Philly (which I'm not confident of), then they'd play the Rams, leaving the 49ers'/Pack winner playing the Bears at Soldier Field. (The 49ers'/Pack game strikes me as a virtual toss-up.)
This leaves the Bucs playing the Rams at St. Louis - again. Now, the last game they played was a work of art, but I'm not confident that they can repeat it (as much as I'd love them to). However, I'd rather go to San Fran as opposed to Green Bay - Farve is dangerous up there, and I'm not sure how the Bucs could contain him (not to mention the cold factor again).
Of course, this is all irrelevant if the Eagles win.
(The 49ers'/Pack game strikes me as a virtual toss-up.)
The fact that it's at Lambeau strikes ME as an even BETTER chance that the Pack will win - not that I was too worried if the game had taken place at 3Com. (In fact, I probably would have tried to scalp some tix had it come here so I could experience the win in person)
I just saw the weather, and it said the temp would be between 19-15, with snow showers. Which is MUCH better than 31 and sunny. Hopefully. BUT, Garcia used to play in Canadia, so who knows.
The Eagles. Well, they can't run on anyone, so they sure as hell won't run on us. Urlacher will be spying on McNabb the whole game, so even though he comes home to Chicago, he will be neutralized. Eagles defense is pretty good, but Dunn and Alstott are no A-Train. So I say it is Bears 20-Eagles 9. Bears go on to play the Rams in America's Center for the NFC Championship.

The Bears should win this game. Obviously my opinion is just a little biased, but trying to look at it objectively...I still think the Bucs are a better team then the Eagles, just B. Johnson had a bad game. Philly just doesn't impress me. Just because Urlacher will be spying McNabb doesn't mean much though...he can beat you in the air too. He only ran the ball three times, all in the first quarter I believe, against us.
I never thought I would say this...but I hope the Green Bay Packers win the Super Bowl.
I post this knowing that this post and this post alone will probably end up jinxing the curse and thus, breaking it. Anyway, I submit the following into evidence: September 21, 2002: JayBower posts the following:
