IIRC, Goldust was hurt and unable to wrestle. They did the skit since they couldn't do a match.

I think Goldust tripped running away from Warrior during a promo on the Free-For-All.

They do include a handful of squash matches on the Road Warriors DVD, but it serves a completely different purpose. When they were doing matches against jobbers, there was no one out there like Hawk and Animal, size-wise, appearance-wise, etc. So even though the match wasn't competitive, it was a spectacle. By the time Ultimate Warrior was on television, there were dozens of overstuffed goofs on TV. I'm assuming the Gibbs match was his WWF debut.

I think Jim Smith was asking if there were matches featuring the LoD *as* jobbers, not beating jobbers.

I don't have the matchlist for the LoD DVD in front of me, but I'm pretty sure there aren't - I believe the most recent match on the DVD is a WWE tag title win over the Godwinns, but I could be wrong on that one. Someone who's not as lazy as I am can Google up a better answer.

Oops, my mistake..... But to answer your question about the Road Warriors DVD, the Godwinns match is the most recent one they show (from an episode of Raw).

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. The real decline of the Road Warriors--Hawk's personal demons and untimely death--are no doubt addressed in the DVD, but I wanted to know if the worked decline--getting annihilated by the New Age Outlaws, the tepid comeback as LOD 2000, being turned on by Ellering, Droz gets Hawk on drugs--was touched upon. I'm not saying they should have pretended that stuff was real, but show it to illustrate that they were past their peak.

I'd do the same thing with Warrior--to explain why he didn't become the next Hulk Hogan you have to show the stupid stuff from the '90s. If you end the story at Summerslam '91 you think "Gee, this guy would have been on top for a decade if Vince had paid him more money." If you continue on through all the voodoo puke, comic book schilling, and bat-signals, you realize "Gee, no wonder Vince didn't think he was worth more money." I assume that's the message Vince wants to send.

No, they never mention any of that. They do talk about Droz and LOD 2000 for a little bit, but it's all Animal saying that Droz was a great addition and was only there in case Hawk couldn't preform, and how LOD 2000 was a great thing for them to do to stay fresh (oh, and how when they no-sell an entire match of offense it's because of "just how great we were").

There's zero mention of them ever declining at all other than Hawk's health problems. They try to make it look like time never affected them and that were it not for Hawk's drug problems, they would still be no-selling everything in sight for decades to come.

Has anyone sen the jacket cover for the Warrior DVD?

In the real world, WWE believes that no matter what our race, religious creed or ethnic background in America, we all share the common bond of being Americans. American-Arabs are a part of the fabric of America, and they should be embraced by all of us.

I think Jericho's probably better off without the title. Now that he's dropped it, I'm willing to bet he'll be scoring a clean win once in awhile.
