Wrestling veterans to give back to business, Burrville at March Mayhem
Originally posted by Jason Siedzik, Register Citizen While it is not unheard of for independent wrestling shows to have some sort of fundraising component, Northeast Wrestling’s March 26 show has added meaning for two of the show’s highest-profile competitors.
World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter and seven-time WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy are just two of the stars who will be in action at March Mayhem, scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Torrington High School. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Burrville Volunteer Fire Department, a cause with extra significance to Hardy.
Matt and Sgt. Slaughter had a lot more to say about the business and their positions in it that I couldn't fit into the story (which is pushing 1,000 words as is). Both of 'em were pretty insightful, at least in the 10-15 minute phone interviews.
