| #1 Posted on 23.2.12 1513.43 | Instant Rating: 4.41 | I basically stopped listening to music in 2000. Since then I've resigned myself to the oldies channel and not much else.
So, what can you recommend for someone who was a Bjork/Jellyfish/Helmet/Nine Inch Nails/drum + bass/old school rap/poppy-dance-ish fan back in the '90s?
I have glommed onto Lady Gaga and am not all that put off by dubstep, though it just seems like watered down club music to me.
I also just discovered Tom Tom club, so it's not like it's just stuff from this millennium I'm looking for.
Basically, I need something to listen to, and I recent lost everything on my computer due to stupidity. Help!

Like, should I throw up a Grooveshark playlist you can play on your computer, or should I be looking to give you SoundCloud recommendations which come with download links so you can slap 'em on an iPod?

I know *of* grooveshark, and if something really strikes my fancy I'll probably seek it out on itunes or amazon or somewhere.
Generally I'd be listening on my ipod in my truck though. I've got a trial subscription to Sirius, but that'll be running out soon, and I was a little overcome by choice frankly.

Or do you prefer full albums?

I'm used to the radio playing whatever, so really a mix would probably be best, I can always seek out other stuff from an artist I like.
I am not on spotify, or rdio, or pandora. I don't own a cellphone of any kind my work doesn't have wifi of any kind, nor does my work computer have speakers, so streaming stuff is kind-of useless to me unless I'm sitting in my home office. :(

| #6 Posted on 23.2.12 1804.05 | Instant Rating: 7.14 | Basically, I used to own a music and movie store. Since 1996, I've generally listened to between 800 and 1200 new albums every year. I like things of all genres. Some really popular, some completely obscure.
These are the links for two rars that contain my favorite songs of 2010 (I'm still hard at work on 2011). There's one caveat here. They are MIXED. One song flows into the next. If you load it into your IPOD, I think it's gonna fuck it up. If you can afford the 20 cents to burn two cds, I think it would be worth your while, and I would appreciate.
There is a chance, if you can't do that for some reason, and have to use your IPOD, try loading them in and then going to ALBUMS instead of ARTISTS.
I hope you enjoy. Please let me know what you think. The mix from 2010 has been downloaded at least 700 times, and I've gotten about 6 generic thank you's, and one "I really liked this.

| #7 Posted on 24.2.12 0433.23 | Instant Rating: 4.41 | I will certainly let you know when I listen to these. Rapidshare was being anything but rapid this morning, so it was still in the process of downloading the first rar when I went to work.
I promise I won't be answering each and every post as they come in, CRZ!
Having googled dubstep I think it's hilarious that it actually is what I pegged it as - watered down club/drum + bass music.

If these are copyrighted works, could you please take down the links? TOU / TOS for our advertisers says I can't have links to that sort of content. I never know with DJ Mixes how this all works out so I'm going to leave it to you to tell me if these are allowed or not.
I'm not downloading the files so just go with what I'm asking and try to be conservative in your interpretation of what I'm asking.
