What sweet, sweet justice it would be if the Jets beat the Colts as it was the Colts' laying down for the Jets that made it possible for the Jets to even get into the playoffs.

Or the Colts strategy worked perfectly as the Chargers have been the Jets bitch for several years, while the Colts have been the Chargers bitch.
The "winning is everything not the only thing!" stuff is overblown and taken out of context but for someone invested in Uncle Phil vs. Roethlisberger, 9-2 playoff record vs. 3-4 with two disastrous home losses does make me kvell.
I was so bored, I turned to watch Masterpiece Theater in the first half. It promised Gillian Anderson, but there was no Gillian Anderson to be had just the female M from Bond. I switched back and forth in the second half thats how boring this game was until the 4th quarter.
I look at the nfl.com scoreboard and what do I see? The NY Jets preventing the Chargers from getting a straight thirteen.
Enough with the rhyming; the Jets perhaps are this year's upset team. They beat 2 divisional winners with Cincy last week and San Diego today who had until today the most momentum going into the playoffs.
I didn't think the Jets were deserving of getting into the playoffs but they are working their tails off and are now in the AFC Championship game.....Indy better not take them for granted.

And you can argue the win the Chargers had in Indy in '07 was Volek coming off the bench and leading them to victory. And, I don't care if he hit 100% of his field goals in the regular season, Kaeding is not a good post season kicker, and his 2 misses (I'm not counting the 58 yard prayer at the half) were devastating.

I wonder if Marty laughed just a little after watching this game?

OMG, that's SO funny - it's almost EXACTLY like the video I saw FIVE DAYS AGO.
In other news, I hear Conan O'Brien might be leaving The Tonight Show!

He might - until he remembers that he made one of the worst challenges in Chargers post-season history and it ended up costing him his job (not to mention the game).
Although, if I were Norv Turner, I'd wonder about that third field goal attempt in the 4th quarter. And someone with some serious professional credentials really needs to be watching Nate Kaeding. I feel REALLY bad for that guy.
Edit: My apologies if I seem a little... grumpy. That game REALLY pissed me off.

Yeah, that was the only reason the Jets made the playoffs.
poor poor chargers, I wanted them to do it, they had all the opportunitys in the world, too bad boys. Props to the jets, good shit on taking advantage of opportunitys, stickin in there, and knocking off 2 of my favorite teams back to back, im cheering for you now suckaz, your cursed.

There were some REALLY boneheaded moves in this game and this was probably at the top. Like the Shayne Graham situation last week, you've got a kicker that's been proven to be ice cold. Even moreso for Kaeding, since missed TWO before this one. Why trust him to make a 40-yarder when he's already ice cold? If he misses (which he did), not only are you still down two scores, but now you put extra pressure on Rivers and the offense, because getting in FG range isn't enough anymore because they can't trust their kicker.
The other moment that I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned more was Vincent Jackson's idiotic unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the last three minutes. That's an extra 15 yards that killed about 30-45 crucial seconds off the clock. Turner's going to (rightfully?) get the blame for this one, but Jackson should get a swift kick in the ass, as well.

Maybe I missed it, but they never showed a replay of him kicking that flag. And, if the announcers are to be believed, it wasn't like he took a full kick, but more like a frustrated swipe in which is foot grazed the flag.
But still, point taken. With so much on the line, you HAVE to keep your head in the game, and that was one, in a plethora of moments, in which the Chargers weren't playing like there was something on the line.

Yeah, that was the only reason the Jets made the playoffs.
J E T S!
I never said it was the only reason. But had the Colts kept trying in that game, they would have beat the Jets and I think the Jets would have been mathematically eliminated at that point (or at least been really close to it). The Jets had to keep winning to make it in, but there's absolutely no way to argue that the Colts didn't help. And as a Jets fan I'm glad the Colts did what they did. I'll take whatever I can get!
I recommend getting some reading comprehension skills.

And if Houston beat the Jets in Week 1, the Jets wouldn't be in position to need a win over the Colts either. Shit happens. Not like the Colts were up 31-0 when Peyton came out of the game either. It was 15-10. I don't know how a 5 point lead in the third quarter is a guaranteed win, but using hypotheticals as reality is always fun.

Yawn, they couldn't find guilt with Tom Brady so the moronic sports media have to find another "controversy" to exploit. Anything to keep the focus off of domestic abuse or head injuries.
