THAT is what makes the Giants dangerous because there is NO PRESSURE on them to win because no one expects them to or would be shocked if they lost. EVERYONE expects the Patriots to win and the pressure on them to do so WITH a perfect season on the line can only help the Giants if the game is close.
For me, this is the best of both worlds because if the Giants win, as a fan I a psyched. But is they lose, then as a NFL fan, I get to see history and also as someone who hates the '72 Dolphins, a Pats win will shut those guys up forever.
Go Giants!
"Marriage is like that show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, but it’s not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."

Prince Akeem: Sir, did you happen to catch the professional football contest on television last night? Cleo McDowell: No, I didn't. Prince Akeem: Oh sir, the Giants of New York took on the Packers of Green Bay. And in the end, the Giants triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big "H". It was a most ripping victory. Cleo McDowell: Son. Prince Akeem: Yes? Cleo McDowell: If you want to keep working here, stay off the drugs. Prince Akeem: Yes.

He's been replaced by a Skrull as a Marvel product placement deal with the NFL to promote Secret Invasion and no one told the Skrull that he is supposed to throw key 4th quarter interceptions.
(Which means that Eli was replaced right after the Patriots game.)
