Has anyone heard the rumor that starting in April the WWF will change it's logo to "WWFE"? Also in the works could be new sets for "RAW" and "Smackdown". Anybody else read these rumors?

haven't heard about a new raw or smackdown set. i could see them tweaking the raw set, but they spent a bunch of money on a new smackdown set not too long ago. that fist doesn't look cheap.

| #3 Posted on 25.3.02 1855.34 | You know, it's going to be a bit cumbersome to say "WWF-E" everytime we refer to the company. Don't you think the WWFE will just be the overall "coporate umbrella" as Linda called it, and the two shows and their rosters will have individual names? Probably not "The Smackdown Team and The Raw Team" either. This is going to be weird.

No, but that fist sure does look dumb.
Yeah, I've heard all about the logos and sets. Personally, I like the sets now, but since business has (apartently) been waning recently, why not try to spice things up in every way possible? New rosters, new sets, new logos, and (hopefully) new annoucers. Should be a fun ride for a while.
Assuming, of course, that the WWF doesn't screw this up as well...

on a somewhat related note, i wish they would have changed their company name to "Titan Entertainment, Inc." instead of WWFE. it might have stopped the lawsuit from coming down in the first place. maybe.

What is now known as World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Incorporated was known as Titan Sports Incorporated. They are the same company, except Vince changed the name when they went public (it seems much easier to identify a company to a product if they share similar names don't you think?). Titan Sports was Vince's company when he bought the WWWF from Vince Sr.

| #12 Posted on 26.3.02 1259.37 | In terms of whether or not they would call it "WWFE" on the broadcasts....it sure seems like JR said "World Wrestling Federation" a lot more than he usually says "WWF" last night. So maybe they would just start saying the full name. And maybe the new logo would be something along those lines as well.
Also, I seriously doubt the Smackdown set would be changed much, because of the recent change. However, I think the Raw set could use a new look. It REALLY needs new graphics, chryon, whatever. It looks very dated to me. Just don't lose the Titantron. | Trineo

If I understand how the ruling went, they can say World Wrestling Federation, but not WWF. But I am also betting that they can legally get around it with WWF: Raw and WWF: Smackdown (and eventually the WWF part).
And get rid of the Titantron too~! That thing cuases more people to turn away from the ring and lose heat on the match. From a TV viewer standpoint, if a lot of the people they see are staring away from the ring (for whatever reason) it gives the look of them not caring.

If they are serious about changing the name to WWFE, they should just totally change the name.
I mean, what's the point of having "Wrestling" in the name if there's not much to begin with. Maybe rename it WSEF: World Sports Entertainment Federation. (sounds dumb, but it is really sports entertainment now days)
Wait, I think Vince will kill me for this idea.
