by March 15 10,000 season tix need to be sold and 50 suites need to be sold.

As of March 1, 2002 5,122 seson tix have been sold and 22 out of 50 suites were sold.

If the Hornets owners do not meet the goal by March 15, 2002 then they can back out the deal and remain in Charlotte.

The owners also can sell the team, Several wealthy people in Charlotte have pitched in money to buy the team and keep it in Charlotte with a new arena.

Juat an update F.Y.I.

Is Charlotte just too much of a college basketball town to care about a pro team or are these guys just not promoting their team properly?

Yikes! Louisville might be stupid enough to try to get back in the mix if NO falls thru. There was a story in the paper here last week about us not fully paying some consulting firm for work they did in trying to convince the Whorenets to move here and now they're threatening to tell other NBA teams not to move here.

*gasp*

Whatever will we do . . .

St.Louis has come up if it don't work out in N.O. Does St. Louis really need a another team?

I think people of Charlotte would rather watch Duke or NC St. these days.

I think Charlotte would support the Hornets again if they didn't have such an asshole for an owner - selling a part interest to Jordan a while back would have been a license to print money in the tobacco state - as it is, the thought of NBA players roaming the French Quarter after games is a very scary thought to have......at least Anthony mason plays for Milwaukee now......

Basically everybody hates the Hornet's owner, and refuse to go watch while he's still around. Several times the fans have begged him to sell, but he just won't. Bastard.

a basketball team is the only thing st. louis is missing. i'd love to see them with a franchise.

it would mean one more town within driving distance where i could see my beloved celtics!

nah, my bulls fandom ended after the indiana series back in... what, 97? 98? they squeaked by the pacers then spanked the jazz in the finals.

i get the feeling that's how this year will be - the conference finals will be great but the final series will be a blow out.

The NBA should force Utah to give the name Jazz back to New Orleans where it belongs.

As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle, being swept along is no longer enough.

The NBA is keeping the name the same "Hornets" for now because it would cost to much to change the name. I think it is a merchandise issue. However new Uni's and colors are in the talks for next season.

If the N.O.Hornets name ever changes "Vodoo" seems to be a popular choice for the name.

If we're talking about Lakers that have made the greatest contribution to the franchise, I'd imagine it'll eventually be Kobe, who's going to own nearly every team record AND possibly match Jordan with six titles.
