Kicking things off, our

PICK OF THE WEEK
Red Dwarf: Back to Earth (The W at Amazon) (miniseries, Dave, 2009) Three part miniseries picks up ten years after the last series and finds the crew headed to Earth 2009 to find....the cast of the TV show called "Red Dwarf?" I haven't actually seen this, but I like the show a lot so I kinda have to pick it up no matter how far over the shark they all may have jumped. OR! Maybe I'm setting my expectations sufficiently low!

Sony's newest brilliant idea is to repurpose their old CDs by accompanying them with yule log footage (OR "snowy cabin" OR Christmas tree...inside the cabin...with a yule log nearby) and putting it on a DVD. They EVEN include the yule log WITHOUT the music! Unfortunately, Amazon uses the SAME demo clip - from the Mariah Carey DVD - on ALL of these:
Various Artists: A Traditional Christmas (Christmas Classics-The Yule Edition)
Brooks & Dunn: It Won't Be Christmas Without You (Christmas Classics- The Yule Edition)
Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas (Christmas Classics-The Yule Edition)

Brad Paisley Christmas (Christmas Classics-The Yule Edition)

It's probably best to keep your expectations low but the extra features should be worth the price of the dvd anyway.

I always wanted to get Red Dwarf on DVD but British series seem so expensive. $25.49 for 6 episodes?

I know the complete collection is a little cheaper, but not substantially so. You can get the ultimate M*A*S*H compilation, all 11 seasons (251 episodes), plus the original movie, plus 2 discs of special features for like the same price as the complete Red Dwarf (8 seasons, 52 episodes).

A Miser Brothers' Christmas (Deluxe Edition) (ABC Family, 2008) Snow, Heat Misers get very late sequel to "The Year Without a Santa Claus"

This was really really bad. Get ready to hear the Miser songs constantly to the point you want them to die horrible deaths.

It is the long-delayed anthology, which is very good despite never getting a real theatrical release (the studio was terrified of competing with the Saw franchise)

I asw it at Fantasia this summer. My review from the W is here:

I finally caught up on this episode just in time to watch the next one in 15 minutes and it might've been my favorite. I love the Mark Waid era of Flashes, with all 4 of them (and Max Mercury, etc. etc.) running around, and I was a huge Impulse fan.
