This is what I don't get: The entire point of the Brand Split according to anyone who thought it was a good idea was that it would force them to come up with NEW stars. Now that they're being forced to come up with new stars, your complaint is that they don't have enough established, ready to retire ones to fill up both shows?

But what does Eddie do while they're creating new ME-level heels? He needs people to feud with while they're building up new guys to challenge him. They can't shove Haas, Dupree, etc. into a program w/ Eddie right away and expect fans to buy into it, and if you do, then Eddie dispatching them right away only serves to hurt them since they weren't already established as big-time players. That's my complaint - he needs established guys to feud with while they build up the new stars.

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
According to the SD spoilers, there's a Bradshaw heel turn, as well as Booker gearing up to turn heel

One of those is a good idea. I'd do Eddie/Show 1st, then let Show take time off for his injuries, then run Eddie/Good Spoiler Guy, all the while building up some new guys.

Exactly. You can't have it both ways. You can use Eddie to make guys into credible heels or turn Eddie heel. He is more of a heelish face rather than a true face but people pop for him anyway.

New stars need old stars, and old stars need new stars.

There is a balance that needs to be struck between the two. I don't really see either roster as being unbalanced at the moment, but the fact of the matter is that you have to have it both ways here. And you CAN have it both ways. You use younger guys to keep the established stars hot, and you use the established stars to build new stars.

I don't see any contradiction with people wanting more established stars on SMACKDOWN! now that Brock's gone and Angle's out of commission (for now). The good thing here is that, at least Eddy beat Angle at WMXX definitively, so we don't have to worry about that feud for a while and Eddy can get over as being the guy that beat him. Also, since Eddy beat Brock at the February PPV for the title, he once again looks good. I don't know what their longterm plan is here, but I hope they turn UT heel or bring someone else over from RAW, like Jericho, to have a good program. Ideally, I would have rather seen HBK go over to feud with Eddy.

As it stands right now, Cena vs Eddy a main event down the road, after Eddy establishes himself more and Cena has a longer US Title run. We're not there yet. Maybe later this year, but as far as right now goes, Eddy needs more than just the Big Show. Eddy can have SMACKDOWN! TV title defenses against guys like Haas and stuff, but I don't think they're ready to headline a PPV with a match like that.

What's the point of a "new star" like Eddy Guerrero becoming a main eventer if he can't hang with established guys like Angle and UT? You need both for it to work.

You can't just say "Hey! Let's make SMACKDOWN! all new guys and get rid of all the old guys!" because that's exactly what WCW tried to do in 2000 and we saw just how thin their roster was when guys like Sting, Hogan, Goldberg, etc. all were gone and the roster was completely stripped down to just newer stars.

Well it was a good 24 hours for Chris Jericho!

Smackdown still has no star power in depth, something I thought was the idea behind the draft to even up the rosters.

Losing Benoit, Edge and Lesnar and not getting a Chris Jericho or similar is a bad move but only time will tell. Angle as GM has lots of positives.

Why move Tajiri? And why not move at least Hurricane to Smackdown and maybe a few out of Storm, Mattitude, Steiner and Test/Stacy.

Okay, first of all, chin up, it's not Steph, so everybody smile about that. Second, I see how annoying this HHH thing is. I mean, what was the point of him being announced as going to Smackdown on Monday, if he's actually staying on Raw now? Well to be honest, I feel better about that, only because I dig Evolution, and I enjoy his issue with Benoit a lot more than his issue with Michaels. And come on, he HAS been a good boy this last month!

Outside of that, Kurt Angle as the GM is one part good and one part bad. The bad thing is, he won't wrestle for a while (if at all), and that saddens us all. He was a prodigy from the get-go. The good thing is, he sure as hell ain't Steph!

I knew it wouldn't quite be as earth shattering when Rico and Jackie went to Smackdown, even though I still believe Rico is more talented than they're letting him be. Jackie, give her credit, has grown up a lot since the match that won't be referred to.

Bottom line is, HHH is still RAW, the wrestling women are still on RAW, Smackdown's still got the cruiserweights, and Sean O' Haire is STILL getting screwed. The winds of change are a blowin'!

After a quarter of a century on this planet, there's three things I know for sure...
1)Ain't nothing like a Dirty Pair marathon on New Year's Eve.
2)I'd make a fine Mrs. HHH II.
3) I'd make an acceptable Mrs. Orton.

Well lets see...

1)He gets drafted to SD
2)He then gets Bischoff and Heyman to fight over him
3)Then gets a WWE Title shot that night
4)Gets the SD Title match on a RAW show
5)Then gets drafted BACK to RAW in exchange for Booker and Dudleys.

The point in the Triple H thing is to swop MORE than 6 stars to Smackdown and set-up a triple threat for Backlash.

The draft will make Smackdown stronger but at the same time it will make Raw weaker.

The good things however:
*Renee Dupree away from La Resistance without breaking it up
*Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T (WWE Championship) - it's going down
*You know it's coming: E-C-W
*Give Rico and Jackie a fresh start
*Nidia into the Womens Division
*Spike Dudley has a purpose: Cruiserweight Champion
*Tajiri loses his henchmen and can challenge for the IC Title. He did hold the US
*Triple H vs. Randy Orton. Will Triple H put over Orton?
*Smackdown's New General Manager: Kurt Angle
*Rob Van Dam escapes Triple H and gets a chance at a title run.
*Nunzio can be just a cruiserweight again without FBI in his shadow.
*Eddie Guerrero has plently of fresh challengers.
*Smackdown Tag Division: Rikishi/Scotty, Dudley Boyz, Akio/Sakoda, Kidman/London, Gunn/Holly, Basham Brothers
*The potential Teddy Long face turn OR Teddy Long and Booker T playa!

The bad things:
*Triple H/Benoit/Michaels Part 2
*Chris Benoit will be champ 3 months tops with both Triple H and Michaels still on Raw.
*Raw Tag Divison: Evolution vs. Random Superstars A & B every week or La Resistance Version 2
*Matt Hardy hasn't got a move which could push him.
*Sean O'Haire hasn't been moved to Raw
*No Announce Team Changes: Coach to SD!?

...and that's the bottom line cos jk sed so

But didn't Matt Hardy just go to RAW not to long ago? And clearly that move didn't elevate him any when some thought it would...so would a jump back to SD! really bring the push he deserves? I somehow doubt it. It seems like he has become just another one of those guys (kinda like O'Haire) that has gotten lost in the shuffle. Hopefully, that will change.

I agree it would be kinda of stupid to rehash the WMXX match at Backlash, especially with an added gimmick. But, I really don't think this will be happening anyway. HBK/Benoit has already been put out there last week by Bischoff, and now with HHH back on the scene he is basically in the same position as HBK was back in February. But instead of being able to insert himself into the match, I think he will go another direction as Bischoff makes him EARN his next titleshot at the next PPV after having 'turned to the other side' last week (he DID rip off the RAW shirt in favor of a SD shirt). Having the same basic premise of one guy stepping into a previously estbliched match between 2 other guys is something that shouldn't be used for the Main Event of two PPVs in a row. Now, if HHH hadn't been traded to Smackdown in the first place, the Triple Threat Ladder match would have made perfect sense, but there's gotta be a reason why the trade was made and then reversed. WWE doesn't just do stuff like this for no reason, it definately will come into play next week.

On the other hand, Bisch traded 3 guys to get him back.

I know I am sick of seeing Evolution never having a clean match raw as been the same matches, same stuff every week for about a year or so.. (IMO) yes there has been little changes but nothing major. I was hoping that evolution would break up so they would start pushing Batista and/or Orton and put flair in a manager's roll (which is what they need to go back to) I think a Orton HHH match would be good. Matt hardy has never done anything sense his brother left. I miss the tables ladder and chair matches

I think it's more the latter than the former.

If the lop-sided trade was the objective, why didn't they just change the format of the draft? WWE makes up its own rules, as we plainly saw with the "24 hour deadline" thing that was added after RAW. It didn't have to be a "6 for 6" thing. The format was probably made up an hour before the show started, tops, and was probably even changed during RAW and before SMACKDOWN!, which is why we saw that Rico and Jackie for A-Train and whoever trade.

But, whatever. They made some interesting changes and it could work out.

Exactly, it will never, ever be as good as the original. The remaining ECW marks should pop in their VCR tapes and learn to enjoy the past because what the WWE comes up with will not be as good as the original.

Do you really believe they will sign New Jack and let him jump off the stage every show?

This really isn't a good move, rating and business wise. ECW went bankrupt because people STOPPED watching it and found new stuff to entertain them, wrestling wise. It's not as though there's a huge audience salivating at the prospect of seeing it return from it's own ashes, and even if there WERE, you have to wonder why your hardcore ECW smarkymcsmartmarks would watch a WWE-santized version of it when ECW fans prided themselves on watching a program that was an alternative to Vince's circus in the first place.

There's no question Van Dam, Dreamer, and Spike would all benefit from a return to their hardcore roots, but it's only nostalgia, not the edgy bad-ass product people remember ECW for.

You guys don't get it. We don't really want ECW back because it was the end all be all of wrestling. Having even a bastardized version of ECW solidifies in our minds that ECW was worth a damn during its existence. It means that the legacy of the ECW philosophy was important enough to warrant inclusion in 2004.

It's more about pride in the ECW product than the wish for a revival of the epic Da Baldies/New Jack feud. So how about you let us that have been to the "Bingo Hall" have our moment in the sun? Is that too much to ask?
