This was the best trade for the Smackdown side, as you now give Booker T a fresh start and you take RVD out of Hunter's shadow. It's evident that HBK wants to feud with HHH until the end of days, so you might as well let them. It also opens up that feud with Edge that Hunter's been dying for.
But man, does this trade leave Raw's tag division dead in the water, or what?

Was that whole RAW good for nothing? Man I was hoping to see Evolution being led by Orton, now HhH comes back and Smackdown doesnt get the heel it needed so badly. Smackdown has no top heel! Smackdowns top heel, Angle has just become a face GM? Man WWE dropped the ball BIG TIME here. This whole thing makes absolutely NO SENSE to me at all. On RAW they built up HhH coming to Smackdown and now he doesnt even come? Oh and from what I heard Angle can wrestle again and doesnt require surgery.

Give that man the $10, 000!
They DID plant the seeds of a heel turn with RVD screwing up the tag title match last night...
They MUST have something more in mind for Teddy than giving Orlando Jordan a manager...
They DO need a top level heel on Smackdown pretty desperately with Lesnar gone and Angle hurt...
They DESPERATELY need to freshen Booker up; his pops were getting quieter by the week...
And let's not forget the guaranteed hilarity of Kurt Angle bopping along and pretending he gets what Booker and Teddy are talking about when they start using the "playa" and "haterizing" lingo. Great idea.

| #25 Posted on 23.3.04 2022.10 | Instant Rating: 8.01 | YES! I kept hoping it would be Angle and for once I guessed right. He'll be perfect for the show in that capacity, giving Eddie problems and having to deal with Sheriff Austin. Not to mention that he'll still probably do a match or two here and there when he feels up to it (and I'm sure he will, he won a Gold Medal "with a frickin' broken neck" after all). Man that'll be sweet.
And trade Booker T for HHH? I'm willing to put up with the occasional Dudley Boyz match in order to see Booker go after the U.S. title with Cena, or even up against Eddie. I know Cena has to be staying, as he's advertised for all the upcoming Smackdown houseshows around the area, so that's fine by me as well.
So that makes the HHH/Eddie match from RAW even bigger - because they won't be up against each other anytime soon again. (Although I wouldn't put it past them to set it up for them to feud again as a RAW vs. Smackdown match come WM 21.)
Sweet.
Of course, with HHH back, RAW will now suck again, but hey I've been there before so it's nothing new. ;-)
Seriously, I too thought moving HHH to Smackdown would have been for the best for him, as he could have done some tinkering with his character and given us something different than the same ol' thing he's been doing for the past three years. Oh, well, it looked like a new direction for him, but I guess it wasn't to be.
Like having Rico back on Smackdown as well, as he was doing a lot more there than he ever got a chance to do on RAW. Although I think they could have easily traded Jackie for something useful . . . like cleaning supplies or a 1978 Gremlin.

| #30 Posted on 23.3.04 2025.06 | Instant Rating: 6.84 | HHH to SMACKDOWN! was the better move, as his continued dominance of the World Title over the last two years really leaves us with more of the same if he stays on RAW. He does have a movie coming out, which I will naively assume will keep him away from the World Title for a few months.
I just hope HHH stays away from the World Title for a while. A long while. He has absolutely nothing to prove on RAW anymore.
It's great that Booker T and RVD will get a shot on SMACKDOWN!, at least. So, it's not the worst thing ever. But, Booker T is obviously hurt the most here by needing an additional tag team to come along with him to "match" HHH.
Still... HHH is worth three people? I bet Angle had to fight to the death to hold onto precious HHH.

Raw has Triple H, Benoit, Edge, Jericho, Stone Cold, Foley, Kane, HBK. Then they've got Christian and Orton who are on the same level as RVD and Booker if not higher.
Stone Cold doesn't wrestle. Mick Foley will gone in a month. Triple H is leaving to shoot a movie after Backlash. Jericho is in the same realm as Booker and RVD right now. Christian is nWo B-Team 4 Life. Kane just got SQUASHED by The Undertaker (who you forgot was on Smackdown).
So what heels would RAW be left with if HHH moved to Smackdown? Uhhh uhhh uhhh none that could headline except Michaels and he's gonna need to take time off eventually and he doesn't wrestle house shows. Unless you want to try and sell a PPV with Randy Orton as a headliner right now. I like Orton but he's like a year away from that.
It all looks fairly even now with Angle being able to wrestle soon. Benoit needs all the heel help he can get. Guerrero just needs people to be fed to him because he's far more over then Benoit right now. | JustinShapiro

First, HHH should have jobbed to Eddie last night. It would be good for business I think plus it wouldn't hurt HHH all that much since he would be back on RAW anyways. I figured, ok cool they have a no contest and we'll get to see a good HHH/Eddie PPV match in the future..guess not.
Second, this pretty much cements Smackdown as the "underdog" or "second rate" show. Don't get me wrong, I love Eddie but if they do give Booker a huge heel push and the belt it'll feel more like ok he won the SD! belt which isn't all that impressive. Know what I mean?
I just felt like having HHH on SD! made it so SD! had a little more cred rather than being RAW's under study. | madiq

| #38 Posted on 23.3.04 2047.07 | Instant Rating: 6.72 | Everybody's talking about Booker T turning heel and joining Teddy Long, but a neat little swerve would be to have RVD turn on Booker. I think RVD is better suited to making contributions on the heel side, and with a decent mouthpiece, he can go heel believably. Booker works better matches as a face; he just needs a compelling storyline. Long forming a stable of wrestlers to take Booker out might be just what the doctor ordered.
The Smackdown tag division has gotten a little more interesting, now that there is a potential Division-killer floating around. As for the RAW tag division, it looks like Evolution will be holding on to the gold for a while. I can't even imagine who potential contenders could be, but I hope they don't try to force-feed us Garrison Cade and Chuck Palumbo.
I really wish they could've shifted Rey Misterio over to RAW, though. He has outgrown the Cruiserweight Division, and the story of him trying to play with the Intercontinental Division big boys would be compelling TV, even if it kinda steps on the toes of Hurricane. Instead, we're left with 1 guy (Stamboli) that is pretty much useless by himself (unless they run w/ a Nunzio/Stamboli team), and the other (Palumbo) directionless on a new show. In the very least, they should have sent Stamboli to Raw w/ Chuck to shore up the tag scene (currently Evolution, Helms/Rosey, Venis/Storm [hardly used], and Conway/Dead Weight).
Blah. This FBI mark is left disappointed.
