I think what is meant by old timers is a forum based on age for us dirty old men that are on the board.

But then again, here is mine. How about we carve up the Random folder a bit with forums based on stuff like TV, Movies, Video Games, Music, etc. Random to me is like the miscellaneous folder that should be pretty small.
That's my $.02.

| #46 Posted on 5.9.02 1748.51 | CRZ, I have a question. What if a hypothetical person on this board created a hypothetical new user that was female, but it was obvious that the two users were actually the same person. For example, this hypothetical person could hypothetically change the title in his hypothetical name to something a hypothetically female title. If you were to hypothetically discover that that hypothetical female login name had posted on a hypothetical "Women's Forum" would you hypothetically find it necessary to ban both the user names, that is both the original and the newly created one? This is all hypothetical of course.

What you have described would make that hypothetical person the MOST pathetic excuse for a human being in the cyberuniverse.

I believe that this post wins the award for most uses of the word "hypothetical" in a post.
Hypothetically.

| #52 Posted on 6.9.02 0254.28 | Instant Rating: 4.05 | after reading this thread, and seeing how the ladies forum is flourishing, i'm glad they have a safe, male free, environment that they can share their ideas and not have to worry about some idiot guy chiming in with his to cents (waits for the for CRZ to hit me with a shoe......and there it is )
but please ladies, try not to let the few idiots speak for all of us guys...
on a somewhat related note, the only other forum that i think i would find useful would be some geographical location forums. like Mid-Atlantic, New england and so on...Gamefaqs.com has that, i lurk in the mid-atlantic forum, but not much goes on there other than the kids starting threads like "Which HS ya'll go to?" "Mont co ROXEROROERS!" and the ever popular "Who listens to 99.1 HFS?" "Who saw my tits at the HFStival?"
sigh
i'm sure our group would use it for more of a "here's what's going on locally, discuss" type of forum...

| #53 Posted on 6.9.02 1222.03 | Granted the Ladies Forum is only a few days old, with few posts compared to the rest of the board, but if you read the threads there are at least two obvious things that stand out. The first is the absence of insults: whether it be the banter back and forth "You suck" "NO, YOU suck", or the posters trying to look witty by ripping on other posters. The second is the omission of profanity. The civility is refreshing and there are some really good opinions there.

Actually this site's forums are much more civil and cleaner than many other forums out there. Just read the crap on other forums and you will be impressed on the good work CRZ has done.

| #55 Posted on 6.9.02 1543.25 | | I think that the Ladies Only forum is a great idea. But, even if I didn't think it was a good idea, this is CRZ's board and he can do whatever he wants. I don't post often, but I do read often and I appreciate the effort that is put into the board. I have a cheezy little site that I run for classes that I teach and I'm too lazy and too ignorant of "how to do html stuff" to do much more than upload old exams and keep a rough outline of what's going on in class up to date. | count olaf
