Looks interesting. I did enjoy Pitch Black, it was a cool little sci-fi flick. This however looks almost like your typical big budget summer blockbuster. I kind of like the look and production design which reminds me of Frank Herbert's Dune (the book not the crappy Lynch film).
Judi Dench is in the flick, looks like she's playing an expository character who's main purpose is to rundown all the main plot points for the audience. Also looks like Keith David (black guy, not the white David Keith) from the first film is there as well. From what I understand, the mini-Riddick character, Jack, from the first film is in there but played by a different actress (Alexa Davalos?) and her name is Kyra(?). Thandie Newton looks really hot as the evil Necromanger chick, and Karl Urban (Eomer for Lord of the Rings) with that weird haircut.
Well, I'm sure it will be a nice diversion or a fun popcorn film to say the least. It looks like it has some cool special effects and good action. I'll probably give it a look see.

My buddy Pete and I were able to watch Man vs. Beast II at the Jolly Taxpayer on Friday night, albeit without any sound. The following is my report on the show. 1. Long Jump - Man vs. Lab. Victory went to the Lab, by a margin of half a foot.
