The (somewhat) smaller dominoes are falling as well:

Boise St. leaves WAC, headed to Mountain West (sports.espn.go.com)

The most recent evaluation was based on a four-year period (2004-07) and consisted of the following three components:

Average BCS ranking of each conference's highest ranked team.

Average BCS ranking of each team in the conference.

Number of teams from each conference in the BCS top 25.
Given the time frame, the ranking could have changed, but at the time the MidWest was the most likely to benefit, so I assume that's still the case.

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

Here's my best guess for what happens from here:

- Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and either Texas A&M or Baylor to the Pac-10, forming a "Great Pacific" superconference. (The Pac-10 obviously prefers A&M but will take Baylor if A&M goes to the SEC.)

- The SEC picks up Baylor or A&M for the West Division and Missouri for the East division, going to 14 teams.

- The Mountain West picks up the Kansas schools, giving them 12 along with Boise State, a conference championship game, and BCS cred.

- The odd team out, Iowa State, joins the MAC, the only conference that makes sense for them geographically.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

Would the Pac 10 be interested in Baylor solely because of geographical location? What's the logic there?

Since Nebraska is in the Big 10 starting in 2011 and the rest of the Big XII schools appear to be fleeing the conference in 2012, does this mean since they are at 11 in '11, no conference title game for the Big XII?

I was thinking the same thing. Sure seems to be the case, unless the NCAA makes an exception or something. No championship game would be one last F-U that Nebraska could give to the Big 12.

Speaking of Baylor, another report is that Baylor, Oklahoma, and Kansas are trying to band together to prove to Texas that a 10-team Big 12 can provide revenues on par with the Pac-10.

Mandel at SI tweeted that the new PAC 10 would also look to start play in 2011 just to avoid that issue, so we'll see if they can pull it together quickly.

The Big 12 commissioner is doing the same thing. (ESPN)

The local talk radio hosts, in between crying that nobody wants Mizzou, have talked about Oklahoma and Texas A&M heading to the SEC, which would be good for Oklahoma and horrible for A&M.

Either way, if we get down to 4 major conferences, that paves the way for a NCAA playoff system.

Missouri is now claiming that they're staying in the 10-team Big 12.

And now ESPN says four sources within the Big 12 say Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are gone to the Pac-10 within a couple of days.

Will find it hysterical if Missouri, which was begging to bolt the Big XII for the Big Ten, gets left out in the cold.

Some talk around here that a new TV offer came in over the weekend(someone who didn't want Fox to have all those games in the new PAC 16 was what I heard but I don't even know if Fox has the PAC 10 deal currently). And that this deal may be sweet enough to keep the Big 12 at ten teams going forward.

I think everyone's just making crap up at this point.

They do, which is why we all got our hopes up over the potential expansion would bring. ABC/ESPN gets first choice for a 5:00 pm game, but then every weekend there is an Oregon State/Stanford 7:30 pm Pacific game. When west coasters bitch about the East Coast-bias, it is really because of those late FSN games.

Well the rumored TV deal was apparently for real. Doesn't sound like they'll add more teams, as then they'd have to spread the new cash around. Not sure how A&M got the same share as Texas and OU, but oh well. At least the conference still exists.

That because his son is playing there?

I'd like to see them in the SEC, add them and USF.

If USF has to be in a BCS conference, it does make sense for them to be in the SEC and not the Big East as they are the only Big East member south of the 36°30'line.
