Apparently his knee got nuked last Monday off of the baseball slide.

| #3 Posted on 22.8.11 1606.44 | Instant Rating: 6.16 | Rey's been having knee troubles throughout the year and kept carrying on like a trooper. It's a shame that he'll probably be out for the Mexico tour and miss his chance at a hero's welcome.
So the storyline reason will likely be the post-match Del Rio attack last Monday, meaning...yeah, the seemingly neverending feud between Rey and Del Rio will pick up right where it left off upon Rey's return.
There's a wide open spot for that #3 babyface spot right now with Rey out. Kofi, Morrison, and Bourne have been running in circles for a while now, so I guess it's finally time to elevate one of them.
EDIT:
I'm actually watching The Very Best of WCW Monday Nitro on Netflix and it's really interesting to watch this Rey/Jericho match from '98 with Rey wearing a big knee brace and favoring his knee after a suicide dive. How many knee injuries has Rey had over the years?

I think it's safe to say that Rey's knees are being held together by spit and a prayer by this point. He's had at least a dozen knee problems in his long career, and probably more that we never heard reported.
