You might want to help hype Survivor Series coming up. Maybe ask who in his match will survive (i'm assuming he'll say himself, but who else on his team might survive). Maybe ask him about the other matches. And maybe ask him if he has any favorite Survivor Series match.

Ask him if it's wierd or akward that he's the WWE champion and every night he's wrestling guys that are very much older than him and have way more experience.

Ask him if Bradshaw is right about Shelton Benjamin being Shaniqua.

Maybe ask him who on the Smackdown roster has the best chance of winning the Royal Rumble and possibly facing him at WM XX.

Ask him if he's played the new Smackdown game, and if he's happy with the way he came out, or some other question about the game.

Maybe if the interview goes well you can ask him to do a favor for us and injure Hardcore Holly again.

Good luck with the interview, I hope it goes well.

Yeah......you can ask him if he likes playing with himself. (lol)

I like the question about whether he ever plans on running for Governor of Minnesota. I think that's funny without being insulting, and shows you know your background on him as well.

I'd say stay away from the "where are you from, how'd you get here" type questions. Instead, work that information into other questions -- again, to show him you know the background. Just a little trick I learned majoring in Communications. "Now, I know you wrestled at Minnesota and won the NCAA championship. Who in the WWE besides Angle, of course, do you think would do best in that amateur style? Who in college do you think would be best suited to pro wrestling?"

Maybe ask him how much it's helped having someone like Kurt Angle in the locker room to learn from and chat with, if that's helped his transition from amateur to pro. Ask him if he thinks that it was Angle's success that led the WWE to believe he could go straight to the top -- if there was no Kurt Angle, would he have been pushed so far so quickly?

As I mentioned last week, since your mag is entertainment-oriented, ask him if he sees himself doing movies, and what movie star he can see him patterning himself after.

Definitely help hype Survivor Series. He's on a team with four other hosses ... maybe ask him which one he'd least like to face in a dark alley. Ask him if he's given Matt Morgan any advice, or if he still feels like he's too much of a newbie to be giving advice. Hey, there's a good one -- ask him if thinks he's moved from rookie to veteran, and to speak on how that's made a difference on the road and while performing.

Let's see... he's big, he cuts promos worse than Marge Gunderson in Fargo, he's big, he fucked up the finisher in the main event at Wrestlemania, nearly killing himself, he's got tattoos, and he draws amazingly mild reactions after getting the biggest push in WWE history. But he's big. And from OVW. And he's big. At least he's not over. Bautista probably will be, though. He's big, too. And John Heidenreich. And Matt Morgan.

Edit - And Nathan Jones. God will surely rain down gifts of eternal bliss and buyrates, now that cauliflower-eared Minnesotans, lactating ex-cons and dick joke gimmick-laden oafs are finally getting the pushes they richly deserve.

I'd ask him the same thing I'd ask Big Show...

Ask him if he had entered the WWF in the mid-90's when they had wrestling garbagemen, clowns, and repomen, what would his gimmick be and why?

Stopping ragging on the poor guy just because he is big!
I'm no more pleased than you all are about Matt Morgan, Nathan Jones, John Hnnrmmr, or even Steiner...but Brock does stand out as different.

He is *very* agile for a man his size. He is an impressive technical wrestler. He wrestles with legitamately broken ribs and how his knee is messed up right now I don't know, but he's fighting through the pain. From what I've heard, or rather, haven't heard, Brock doesn't seem to have become too arrogant. He must be trusted not to injure other wrestlers - Angle had faith in Brock at Wrestlemania, and recently he has been trusted with the boss's daughter.

The predujice on this board against big men is getting a little ridiculous. Not long ago I was writing about how skill is more important than strength, but strength and skill can be very cool.

BTW, I love the Shaniqua Benjamin question!

I think a lot of these questions suggested here would be good.

I have a few suggestions as well:

-I'd personally like to know details on that proposed "shoot" with Lennox Lewis the WWE had originally planned for this past February's No Way Out; what nixed the deal and exactly what the match stipulations were.

-As someone already mentioned here, I'd like to hear Brock's take on the missed SSP at Wrestle Mania, specifically what his thoughts were as he leapt 2/3 of the ring and what was going through his mind when he knew it wasn't going to land properly.

-I'd ask him to clear up the rumors of the Curt Hennig European plane ride scuffle once and for all. (they've all but said it was just them horsing around but it'd be cool to get the details)

-I'd ask what he thought when WWF originally approached him with the developmental deal in 2000 and whether he was a fan of pro Wrestling. (if so ask who his favorites were)

-Ask him about meeting Vince McMahon the first time and whether Vince was as intimidating (emotionally not physically)as all the rumors persist (see Droz in Beyond the Mat)

-Ask him whom he thinks would win in a straight out amateur match between himself and Angle. Then ask if he feels that an amateur styled shoot could get over.

-With Undertaker making some noise about possibly trying MMA, ask Brock if he'd ever consider working a UFC or pride shoot fight.

-This is a mark question but I'd like to know who he thinks is a legit tough S.O.B. that people would have no clue about (ie: Fit Finlay or Benoit)

-And finally I'd like to know what the most emotionally overwhelming moment in his career thus far was (ie: his debut, The Rock Title win etc.)

Update: the WWE rep just called. Brock's on the road, and his cell phone is cutting out, so for now, the interview is postponed until tomorrow. damn.

Can't jinx myself by posting that just yet, and I don't everybody freaking me out at the last minute by second guessing me, so I'll let everybody know tomorrow. Brock's calling at 9:30 tomorrow morn, which is really weird to think about.

Here are some that I think would work.

If you weren't in wrestling, what would you be doing now?

What was it like to step in front of 50,000 fans at WrestleMania?

What was the highest/lowest point of your career?

If you could wrestle any one guy you haven't yet, who would it be?

OK - i just did the interview by phone. It sounded like brock had just woken up - not exactly what you want to hear when you do an interview.

I'll post the interview when it comes out, but the WWE rep did keep cutting in on us, telling me my questions were getting out of line. I aksed him about that footage of he & Kurt kissing at a house show that was discussed earlier in this thread, and Brock accused me of looking at gay porn.

Later I asked him about Kidman getting his nips in a twist when Brock used the SSP. Brock: "Got his what in a a twist?" Me: "Uh, I think I said his nips." Then the WWE rep guy told me that was all conjecture, and shouldn't be mentioned. i told them that the comments were from Byte This, but they moved on.

Otherwise, we talked about the Fox & the Hound, his NCAA rival Wes Hand, Kurt, who's tough, and a few other things.

The WWE was super-cool for hooking the interview up, but man, I wish that other guy hadn't been on the phone. The interview comes out Nov. 20, i think. I'll provide a link.

like you said, it only works as a face fighting back move. the only one imo who could use it and make it look good is Shelton Benjamin. His offence is variable enough to not make it look like a standard spot.
