Given your audience then you probably want to avoid too many in-ring based questions and focus more on life as a professional wrestler in general.

Ask him about some serious stuff like how it feels to be on the road for so long away from family and friends , while also trying to get any amusing anicdotes or funny ribs out of him.

Any tales of having to finish a match while in ridiculous amount of pain or embarassment can also make good reading.

And if you want to avoid generic shit like 'What do you say to people who say wrestlings fake/not a sport?' etc you could rephrase it by asking them to describe a typical weeks work for a wrestler, from training to tapings.

Best of luck with it though and try not to make you're disappointment too obvious if Nathan Jones walks through the door ;)

If you mean the sig then its Marc Vivien Foe. Played football (soccer) for Manchester City and Cameroon. Died this year after collapsing in the Confederations Cup semi-final.

I put it up as a sort of tribute the day after and never got round to changing it.

Talk sports and music with him for a bit.

Ask him or her about the Cubs fan in Chicago.

Ask them what their favorite restaurants are and where?

Skip all the wrestling related questions and focus on the person behind the persona. It will come across as a much better interview. We see the characters on TV and at events all the time. But finding out what really makes them tick is cool. Just like poeple mentioned with Val Venus being really into politics. You never know, the story may just write itself.

Could make for some interesting answers, depending on the interviewee.

That's a pretty good idea....and would be topical too with the THG scandal still fairly fresh in the news.

If this is going around to people who never watch wrestling, is it REALLY the best thing possible to base an interview on how drugged up everyone is and how big of a low-life they all are? It's not much better than the "Isn't it fake?" and "Don't you all do roids?" questions from 10 years ago. I mean, if you were doing a basketball interview with Vince Carter and nobody reading it was a fan at all, would you center the conversation on rapes?

I would seriously stay away from this basic kind of question too. The WWE is doing you a HUGE favor by letting you do this interview (not to mention the wrestler, who they probably haven't even picked yet), so you probably don't want to get confrontational with them, or else they may just end it short.

Aside from all the "Interview" questions you're gonna ask for your paper, I'd like to see you explain to him (her?) than you're a pretty big fan and you have some questions of your own that wont show up in the paper, then share them with us here. Nothing dangerous or "shoot-ish", but I know if I were in your spot I'd have a thousand curiosity questions I'd wanna ask a wrestler. Like how often they get paid (weekly? bi-monthly?), who they travel/hang out backstage with, what their parents/family think of their chosen profession, do most of the wrestlers watch the shows on TV, etc.

That's stuff I always wanted to know, anyway.
