Looks like we won't be seeing Brodus for a while. The reason seems to be that Creative has nothing for him to do his in-ring work needs "improvement".
Brodus Clay's new "Funkasauras" gimmick has been put on hold, according to the Wrestling Globe Newsletter. WWE head Vince McMahon reportedly believes Clay's in-ring work needs to improve. Clay in a match against Heath Slater was cut from Smackdown earlier this month, and Clay has not appeared on WWE TV since the January 30 Raw. Clay wrestled dark matches at last week's set of TV tapings.
Meanwhile, The Great Khali's main eventing while Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater, and Ezekiel Jackson continue to fester on SmackDown on a weekly basis. Somebody call my momma!
The conspiracy theorist in me wants to say that he has been taken off television for taking a gimmick that was supposed to embarrass him and made it work and the WWE Universe didn't totally shit on the gimmick, but embraced it.
It wouldn't surprise me if they had him re debut in clown shoes confessing his love to Mae Young.
(I actually googled the word re debut, because it doesn't look right to me ... brodus clay re debut is what it goes to)

I think the point is they dont think he's capable of doing anything more than one minute squashes.

I never understood this line of thinking. Why would WWE invest the TV time and effort to intentionally embarass their own talent? I get that his gimmick is kinda ("very", to some) dumb, but to suggest that WWE would throw a guy out there in a gimmick that THEY think is terrible for the purpose of burying their own employee just doesnt make sense to me.
They embarass Jim Ross all the time! Natalya's current character is "Girl Who Farts". NXT3 was basically Michael Cole shitting all ver the entire show & anyone involved.

I understand that people get embarassed by dumb gimmicks and dumb angles in dumb segments all the time. And even though the audience thinks they're stupid because they ARE stupid, the WWE doesnt think they're stupid (because THEY'RE stupid). The WWE either actually LIKES that crap or they genuinely believe there's an audience for it.
My point: I find it hard to believe that WWE *intentionally* trots out dumb stuff in front of the camera that THEY themselves believe to be dumb, soley for the purpose of making their own employees look bad (jobbing folks on their way out doesnt count).
The Jim Ross stuff though? ...Yeah, I dont really have an explanation for that.

Dusty Rhodes, Perry Saturn, Mark Henry (especially Mark Henry, jesus), they do this kind of shit all the time. To suggest it wouldn't make sense to invest the amount of effort needed to humiliate their own employees would be to suggest that the decisions of Vince McMahon are grounded in logical reasoning.

Molly Holly, Trish Stratus, Mickie James, practically anyone who had to kiss Mr. Mcmahon's butt.
It's possible that the creative team is just comprised mostly of immature frat kids but I like to think that there aren't THAT many of them in the world.
What's crazy is that it wasn't long ago that Clay was squashing guys on Superstars (was it?). Did no one happen to watch that and decide maybe he needed more work then, rather than AFTER they re-introduced him?

Head of creative is not a frat guy. It's Daddy's Little Girl.
The goal of the WWE is to make money. It's nonsense to believe that the WWE punishes wrestlers on purpose or kills gimmicks just for the heck of it.
They've had plenty of time to develop Clay, and if he isn't ready to wrestle now, he's never going to be.
Obviously, they see no profit potential right now in Brodus Clay's gimmick. Let's face it, no one is going to buy a PPV to see Brodus Clay do his dance gimmick now. I suspect if anything, they will use Clay for house shows for the time being.

The goal of the WWE is for McMahon to do whatever he feels like. If that means embarrassing people on the roster then he'll do it. They've had Michael Cole out there telling everyone watching that the wrestlers are the drizzling shits simply because a few of the top people in back think it's funny.
The Jim Ross topic is a perfect example of them using tv time simply to embarrass someone. They do this stuff all the time, and always will.

And no one is going to buy a PPV for Santino's Cobra and power-walking. No one is going to buy a PPV for a 26 second Diva's match. No one is going to buy a PPV for a lot of the crap that they fill the shows with a lot of the time. That doesn't mean they shouldn't fill in parts of the card with stuff like this. Especially if one of the acts was actually getting over with the crowd.

I always think that this is not to spite people/wrestlers. It's simply a very cheap way of trying to get a crowd reaction. Most of the time it doesn't work anymore, but that won't stop bookers from trying. Unfortunately they do it in such lame ways and methods that it does come across as bullying and total ridiculous booking.

I think you only need to see the Punk win in Chicago how it can work correctly.
It probably won't be so bad, but the WWE seems to often have a hometown worker do a lot of pre-show local media to try and drum up attendance. And then they job.
It's completely horrible for a bunch of reasons: 1) When you think of Macho Man, you can't help but just see him in a neon spandex cowboy hat w/fringe outfit. I can't see somebody like that rapping. 2) His raps kind of suck. 3)
