Sounds like the usual gloom and doom prophecy to me... in 2005 about half the people mentioned will be gone or retired anyway, so obviously the payroll will be lower...
or maybe i'm annoyed since this is taking precedent over the performances by Randy, Curt, and Brandon these past few days...

I guess for D-Backs fans it was fun while it lasted...
Actually, that has also been the Orioles the last few years (and yes, I know, this means Baltimore takes 3 out of 4 in Boston this week).
Time to do a Red Sox pennant chase supply list: Arsenic: check. Cyanide: check. Booze: check. Fully loaded gun for full chamber Russian Roulette: check. Ok, I'm prepared, let the pennant race commence.
It all depends on how the 'baby backs' do next year, if this was just a fluke thing, we are SOL. if they are for real and have a good off-season, let's see what happens. I'm worried about the corners and BB's back and forth stuff.

And that's why with that money coming off the books Vlad Guerrero wears orange and black next year...

Actually, I think they'd be better off not getting into a bidding war with the Mutts over Guerrero, which probably would be in the 15-17 million range, and instead sign Tejada and Milwood for 10 million each, and then sign another 2 solid pitchers.

Guerrero appraently doesn't want to play in a really big city and wants to play with lots of other Hispanic ballplayers. That makes Baltimore his town...
Please inform me, who is this Prior? I've heard of him, but I don't recall hearing him being the biggest thing sense sliced bread. Is he the one to help lead the cubbies ot the World Series again?
