Looks like one more, 16 episode season of "Monk," and that's it. The ratings were always high and this was a show I thought USA would let stick around forever. No word on who called it quits, USA or producers (sounds like USA though). I have gotten the feeling lately that they're stretching for material, so it's good timing on this one. Still, sad to see it go.
Mrs. spf is a huge fan of this show, and when I told her the news her response was "yeah, that seems about right." Gives the show time to wrap everything up and get the storylines moved to where they need to get to.
I just hope they can make peace with Bitty Schram to have her make a guest appearance at some point in the final season.
Thankfully, the show never really felt like it jumped the shark, so at least they'll go out strong.

She's already made at least one appearance since her official departure.
Originally posted by El PescadoI am very happy, however, that they're going to wrap up the main storyline. The one thing I was always afraid of is that it would have been canceled and we would never know what happened to Trudy.
This is pretty much how I feel. It kind of feels like it's time to put that mystery to rest - and if that's what closes out the show, then it's a fine way to go out.
THIS WEEK IN TV * Um, so I guess it's the State of the Union Address on Tuesday? Obviously this throws the television schedule out of order once again. On Tuesday, we do get new episodes of Homeland Security USA, a truncated Primetime: What Would You Do?...
