| #1 Posted on 20.12.04 1208.15 | Instant Rating: 5.41 | Okay, I have a question that my co-workers and I have been trying to get examples for. We're trying to think of movies where the female character asks the man character out for a date or in some sort of romantic way takes the initiative for something other than pure seduction. Our brains are all fried so the only things we came up with were:
1. The Simpsons ep where Ned is asked out by the movie star who comes into the Leftorium.
2. the part in Notting Hill where Julia Roberts gives that awful "I'm just a girl asking a boy to like her." speech.
Help! :)

40 Days and 40 Nights also has something like that, I think.

I'm not sure if this counts, but I just wanted to mention the sort of love scene in The Bourne Identity with Franka Potente and Matt Damon. She's the one that iniates the romance, and it was totally hot. And we didn't even see anything...that's how hot it was. I love you Franka!

Maggie Haynes, RN (played by Patricia Neal) a few days after they meet at a party. While the actual asking is not done on camera, Maggie does explain to her younger roommate Ens. Annalee Dorne, RN, exactly why she asked Torrey out, rather than the other way around. Basically, Maggie's reason boiled down to that once men reach a certain age, they become set in their ways, and if women just sat around waiting for a man to make the first move, nothing would ever happen.
