I love that the Potter producers keep bringing in new filmmakers (and not just any jabronies, but people with original ideas and styles) to keep the look of the series fresh. Gilliam will be creepy
The probably-crap rumour I heard about the next Batman film is that Joker will be the 'main' villain, while there will be a secondary nemesis as well, sort of like how they did it with Ra's and Scarecrow in the last film. Maybe Harley Quinn, then? I could see someone like Hilary Swank in this role, and she already has a history of working with Nolan. Dent would be introduced in BB2, and then become Two-Face for BB3. Lucas would be great in the role, and I think lots of these Joker choices (Bettany, Williams, Glover) would be fantastic. I have faith in Nolan to pull off something amazing.
"He looks like a perverted roofer who knocks off early on warm spring days to drink beer and ogle teenage girls at the river, but wrestles like a man who actually cares about his job." ---DVDVR's Raven Mack on "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray
Yeah, the "secondary villain" pitch has been floating around for a while now, with most rumours suggesting a pared-down, more realistic version of The Penguin. Phillip Seymour Hoffman's the one name that's been attached more than once to the role, which would be outstanding.
I wouldn't get too attached to the idea of Gilliam directing HBP, though. Sounds more like a mutated fan wish than hard fact, given the studio's track record and Gilliam's own problems with working on blockbusters in the past. Plus I haven't seen it reported anywhere bankable.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

Actually, I think I heard a rumor a while ago that they were interested in getting Isla Fisher to play Poison Ivy. But this was a while ago, so it could very well be false.
Since the Batman Begins films are kind of loosely based off the Long Holloween tpb, it would make sense to include another villain. Loeb used every Batman villain he could in the story. Personally, I'm hoping for some more face time for Mr. Zasz, who had a cameo in the first movie. He's not a strong enough villain to carry a film, but he's cool enough I'd like to see him around some more.
This episode had a couple cheap laughs, but the story was all over the place. I didn't really care for it, and I haven't found many 30 Rock episodes to be too engrossing this season. I agree with Justin, it did feel like a series finale.
