(Where HAVE these been?)

It's a long one here...

-----

Hey, look, a wrestling film! No, not really... WWE Films and Lionsgate begin production on THE CONDEMNED. The film will 'star' Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones. It's a 'redux' of THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME and THE RUNNING MAN.

Praying to any god that will hear me that this doesn't happen... Robin Williams wants to play the Joker in a Christopher Nolan BATMAN film. No... just no.

SAW 3 started filming Monday in Toronto. Any Wieners (Weiners?) up there know what's up with that?

With a grain of salt... BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA is getting a sequel that is 'authorized by decendants of Bram Stoker'. It will take place 25 years after the events of the book and first movie. Hmm...

With a grain of salt 2... Here's the CASINO ROYAL (sonypictures.com) trailer. It doesn't look 'as bad' as I think it should... but I'm still not holding my breath. They DID film that full frontal sex scene for the movie, you know. Hmm...

With a grain of salt 3(these could go on forever, you know.)... Ben Affleck just might be announced as the 'new' Captain Kirk in JJ Abrams STAR TREK effort. Oh... My... Gawd!!! He's also doing another 'Jack Ryan' film called RED RABBIT

October 20th, 2006. Mark your callanders now and get ready for it. DISNEY will be unleasing a newly remastered NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS to theatres... in 3D! Hmm...

RED SONJA! 25 Million remake! Where's the joke?

Wes Craven, who has admitted to 'loving' the HILLS HAVE EYES remake, is writting a sequel (himself) to the remake. Wow? It'll be out next year... the film, that is.

HELLBOY 2 has a title! HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY. Depending on who you talk to, it may or may not already be in production.

Another Sequel, geesh Cerebus, is that ALL you ever post about. TOMB RAIDER 3 is set to start production later this year. Lets play a game... Who here thinks I'll see this in my lifetime. Fuck, I'll se Revenge Of The Shit before I see another fucking Angelina Jolie film again.

Angelina Jolie is joining the cast of OCEANS 13... SHIT FUCK HELL PISS FUCKING HELL! DAMN IT!

that classic of classics... PARADISE LOST... yeah; the one everyone is forced to read in high school and hardly anyone ever really does... is being made into a live action film. Say what? How? I've read it, it great. There's shit in there that can't possibly be put on a screen... I just don't see it. Besides, it'll tank. Kids don't want to read it already, what makes anyone think they'll go and spend $10 to see it drawn out in the movies? (Note, I would love to see this actually get done, I'm jst saying there's no market for a poem written in 1667 about the ultimate fight between 'good' and 'evil'.)

UNDERDOG, the live action film from Disney, might be redeeming itself to me. Jason Lee will be the voice of Underdog/Shoeshine and he will be fighting Simon Barsinister trying to save Polly Purebred. If they stick to the original show... this JUST MIGHT work.

Speaking of Disney, it looks like they're starting to fuck with the NARNIA series. PRINCE CASPIAN is being pushed back to Christmas 2008 and instead of doing '1 book = 1 movie', they're combining VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER and THE SILVER CHAIR as one film. Weren't these the two longest books? ...oh yeah, and now they're saying the series will only be a trilogy. Hmm...

CLASH OF THE TITANS is getting remade... yawn.

Christopher Gans, who I'm gonna call the 'Anti-Boll' (Can't have one of these posts WITHOUT mentioning HIM!) has dropped out of like 4 different films to direct ONIMUSHA... which is (SURPRISE!) based on a video game. Let's hope it's on par with SILENT HILL.

Will Smith joins the ranks of Vincent Price and Charles Heston by taking over the lead role in I AM LEGEND. This version, supposedly, is truer to its source material... but takes place in New York.

Well, another year, another live action STAR BLAZERS report. This time, it's not Disney though, so maybe they won't change the name of the ship from YAMATO to 'Arizona'. God, that was a horrible thing to read back then.

Eddie Murphy, fresh off a divorce that claims he 'likes the trannies!' will be reprising the role of Axel Foley in BEVERLY HILLS COP 4. Oh boy!

RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION will see pretty much everyone from the last film returning. Is it me, or is this one of the few film series that hasn't really 'disapointed' yet?

Hey look... they're remaking REVENGE OF THE NERDS! ...Say what?

The HULK sequel (yes, they're REALLY going that way...) will have him fighting the Abomination. Expect it in theatres by 2008.

Put a fork in me... next time, a SEQUELS update!

hahaha!

Not sure what your beef is with Robin Williams. Go watch "One Hour Photo" before you write him off. He does a plenty good job of playing a creepy weirdo. And Lord knows he can play the role of the over-excited wacky guy. Plus, wasn't he supposed to play the part of the Riddler in "Batman Forever" before the role was offered to Jim Carrey?

Didn't Abrams come out and say the Kirk and Spock stuff was incorrect and those characters won't be appearing in his Star Trek film?

Also, I second StingArmy on Robin Williams' creepiness in One Hour Photo. He'd be lightyears better than Nicholson, IMO, whose performance has not aged well.

I like Williams, but I don't think he'd make a good Joker. Anyways, It's Chris Nolan, he knows what he's doing. I had heard he was attached to the Paradise Lost project as well, but maybe I heard wrong. And count me as possibly the one guy in the world looking forward to the Hulk sequel. I totally want to see him fight the Abomination on the big screen. Thankfully, Ang Lee probably won't be directing this one. Don't get me wrong, he's a great director, just all wrong for this kind of project.

I think the Tomb Raider 3 crap is bullshit. The second one flopped. There's no demand for a third movie. I don't think Jolie even wants to do it.

I think the Affleck as Kirk crap is BS too. Abrams already came out and said it won't be Kirk and Spock in the movie.

Hellboy 2. I wonder if it will actually happen. The producer, Revolution Studios is basically in the toilet/under new management, and I think the future of a Hellboy sequel is in question. Perlman is also getting up there in age, so not sure how much longer he can play a character like that.

That said, there is an animated series coming up as well as animated feature DVD's. Abe Sapien actually won't be crap in the animated version either.

I don't think I can put too much stock in the Robin Williams rumor. Wasn't he rumored to be Joker in the first Batman film?

It's really going to be problematic doing the Joker on film again, I guarantee it.

I loved the first Tomb Raider movie...but never really got around to seeing the second. Doubtful I'd take the time to see number three, if/when it's released.

I like Robin Williams as the Joker. Williams and Bill Murray both impress me, with how they can both do comedy, but take a serious role and work wonders with it (Murray's LOST IN TRANSLATION and Williams' ONE HOUR PHOTO being the best examples)...though I thought Williams was better in Insomnia.

Who would everyone prefer to see as the Joker? I think it really all depends on the mood that they're planning for the character.

I keep holding out hope that they'll retire Star Trek for at least a decade. I still remember how terrible Nemesis was.

I thought Robin Williams performance in One Hour Photo was one of the more overrated performances of that year. I was not creeped out by him at all. Paul Bettany, who has been rumored as the favorite for a while now, is the absolute best choice for the Joker.

I really don't know about the Joker. I don't know what they can do after Nicholson. I liked Keaton as Batman, but I always felt there was room for improvement, and they got that with Bale.

With the Joker, its a character that's still pretty fresh as far as cinema goes. Batman still came out less than twenty years ago. I do not envy any actor that has to follow-up Nicholson's Joker on iota.

'Halloween' Returns to Hollywood

A ninth Halloween movie is being planned - as a prequel to the cult horror franchise. Plans to make Halloween: The Missing Years were shelved when producer Moustapha Akkad died in last year's terrorist attacks in Jordan, but writer Jake Wade Wall has confirmed to moviehole.net that the series is back on. Wall tells the site that the prequel will focus on the life of serial killer Michael Myers as a young man, before he was placed in a mental institution. Wall says, "I've been hired three different times for it (the film)... It looks like it's finally set to go. I know that they're (studio executives) in the process of nailing down a really big director but I haven't been able to figure out who it is yet."

I thought Michael Myers was put into the mental institution when he was a little boy after he stabbed his older sister or babysitter(?) at the very beginning of the first Halloween movie. There he stayed until he was a young adult and escaped so he could kill Jamie Lee Curtis.

That's my vote, right there. His doing the Trickster in the Flash series gives you a bit of an idea on what he could do with it.

Hamill's only Jokeresque quality is his voice. Sorry, but he's got neither the look nor the acting chops to pull off a Joker that would match the quality of the rest of the production.

Also, that Hallowe'en prequel pitch is truly terrible. Myers was supposed to be five when he was locked up. How do you build a scary film around a four year-old, and a four year-old who has yet to kill anyone at that?

Speaking of the new Batman franchise, Josh Lucas is rumored to be attached to the role of Harvey Dent/Two-Face, as reported in the following blurb found at MTV.com

Lucas would be ace as Dent. But I'd still rather see Liev Schreiber in the role.

A Batman Begins sequel with Paul Bettany & Josh Lucas joining the cast would get my money, no questions asked.
